Led by saxophonist and Mahopac High School Band Director Rich Williams, the Secret Organ Trio's sound is rooted in the great American tradition of Hammond organ based jazz groups. Steve Chizmadia is a singer/songwriter who has received considerable acclaim over the years. Most recently, Steve attended the 2010 Kerrville Folk Festival where his song, "Wall Street Fat Cat Tax Payer Bailout Blues", was one of eleven finalists in the Music2Life songwriting contest. Steve came home with the Grand Prize and got to perform on the main stage during the prestigious festival. It was his second time in Kerrville, the last as a 2003 finalist. Steve also showcased at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in NY, and his CD, "It Is What It Is", was #12 on the folk D.J. charts in 2007. "This Old Town" (one of our favorites), received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in '05. I love music and I have been playing for a long time, since I was 15 years old. I am a self taught musician. I have been writing and performing my original music from the beginning of my career. I find myself these days especially, focusing on the lyrical content of my songs. I have been influenced by such artists as Joni Mitchell, Patty Griffin, Simon and Garfunkel, Donovan, David Gray, and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sproket. I have always felt a connection to the folk scene and have created my songs to blend in with this genre of music. | ||

The Star Island All-Stars began as an informal pickup band composed of a group of friends on retreat at beautiful Star Island, located off the coast of New Hampshire. The band includes singer-songwriters Adrian Sicam and Kemp Harris, accompanied by guitarist Carl Sturken, and members of the First Unitarian Rock & Soul Revue. Kemp Harris combines American roots, gospel, soul, and African folk. His live shows vary from solo performances to full-band shows. His new CD, “Edenton,” features The Holmes Brothers on backing vocals and was released in March 2007. Adrian Sicam, whose diverse influences range from the Beatles to Mel Torme and Al Jarreau, composes original song in jazz and rock. He released his highly acclaimed CD “Hey Stranger” in 2001. Saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, a high-powered performer, has played with Clark Terry, Rashid Ali, Joanne Brackeen, Vanessa Rubin, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Kool and the Gang, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, and others. Diana has performed with Yo Yo Ma, Anthony Davis, the Long Island Philharmonic and Brooklyn Philharmonic orchestras, among others. “Basically Bach”, a delightful concert featuring the music of Bach and other kindred spirits will held on March 27th at 4:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern. Pianist Hollis Kellogg and violinist Elfin Vogel will be performing.
Admission is $7.00 with donated proceeds going toward the restoring of the church’s baby grand piano.
The concert will be approximately an hour in length, with no intermission.

The New York Standards Quartet has been working together since 2005, when it started with a weekend engagement at Smalls in New York City.
