Saturday 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm | The Blues Dance Party comes to Wallkill with Big Joe Fitz Blues, Jazz, and Dance | Elsie's Place 1475 Route 208 Wallkill, NY See Map |
Last weekend we took a sweet drive down Route 208 going south out of New Paltz. We watched a
beautiful sunset over The Shawangunk Ridge and in about 15 minutes arrived at a cozy little roadhouse in Wallkill called Elsie's Place (Wallkill was the original home of Borden's Dairy, hence the name). Mirna our host could not have been nicer and that pulled pork was mighty tasty! They have a wood stove and a dance floor and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. (It reminded us of The Willow Creek Inn for those of you that go back that far.)
We'd love to see you next weekend at this new (for us) venue and show some love to the club owners who make live music possible. We're planning on a great night: food, dancing and music. What more do you need? Big Joe Fitz & The Lo-Fi's Mark Dziuba: guitar Tim Whalen: drums Robert Bard: bass 845-895-8975 | ||

His spellbinding live show. His deliriously virtuosic singing. His accomplished guitar style. His outrageous, edgy humor. And the songwriting. The songwriting. Vance Gilbert burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the early 90's when the buzz started spreading in the folk clubs of Boston about an ex-jazz singer who was knocking 'em dead at open mikes. The word spread of this Philadelphia-area born and raised performer to New York; Shawn Colvin invited Vance Gilbert to be special guest on her Fat City tour. Gilbert took audiences across the country by storm. He has since released 6 celebrated albums. The latest, "Unfamiliar Moon" is Vance Gilbert at his most fearless, timeless, compelling best. "I produce this festival to feature and mentor women performers and bandleaders, to give 'sidepersons' a chance to be heard and recognized for their valuable contributions to the Arts, and to spread the history of the great women musicians who preceded them."
