Saturday 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm | Maggie Seligman Acoustic, Folk/Traditional, and Americana | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music. | ||

The Coffee Party invited The Dalliance to perform at their first national convention in Louisville, KY on September 24th. “Open Mic for the Open Road” is a fundraising concert to help The Dalliance hit the road and rock for democracy. The Dalliance will open with an acoustic set of their unique alt-rock and then turn the stage over to lead singer/guitarist Barry Mangione who will host an acoustic open mic. Bring your guitar, your voice, and your love of music, but come early since time will be limited.
