I'm a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Raleigh, NC. My first gig was when I was 14, opening for a jazz band at a cute little coffee shop in Durham, playing all original songs on a borrowed 12 string guitar. With my brother playing bass with me. It was really rockin'. And pretty much killed the possibility of ever wanting a real job that wasn't music. In November of 2007 I started really focusing on getting my music heard and played at all of the local open mics, and from there getting shows at local venues. In 2008 I self released a home recorded demo, played at a bunch of local and not so local venues, and made the decision that, hey, this is really and actually what I want to do with my life. Which leads up to the present. In June of 2010, I'm quitting my lovely animal keeping job and going on a solo, self-funded but amazingly and luckily and wonderfully not exclusively self-encouraged or self-supported or self-enthused tour to try to get my music heard.

Towne Crier Cafe

Pawling, NY   See Map
Captivating stylist, introspective chanteuse, musical explorer, songwriter's singer… Labels have never fully defined the voice and talent of Maura O'Connell. Self-described as "just a singer," Maura's multi decade singing career has brought her international acclaim and two Grammy nominations - including a 2010 nomination for her album, Naked. Maura O'Connell began her professional musical journey as vocalist for the traditionally-based Celtic group DeDanann. While in Dublin and on later trips to Nashville O'Connell met Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Tim O'Brien, Jerry Douglas and other top-flight acoustic players whose music resonated with her and influenced her then ground breaking musical penchant for blending Celtic traditions with a wide variety of other genres. O'Connell has lent her incredible voice to the projects of such artists as Van Morrison, James Taylor, Nanci Griffith, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, The Chieftains and Roseanne Cash. "Just a singer"...indeed!

At 16 years old, Connor Kennedy is already performing with world class musicians and making a name for himself in the Hudson Valley. A multi-instrumentalist, Kennedy plays all kinds of music delivered authentically with energy. Whether he's playing smooth blues licks, or twangy telecaster lines, Connor Kennedy will leave your ears wanting more. Performing with Connor are two young musicians of a rare caliber for their ages. On bass, is 18-year old Lincoln Center award winning bassist Shawn Ferraro. Shawn was awarded Most Outstanding Bass Soloist at the 2009 Essentially Ellington competition. On the drums, is the soulful 15-year old Lee Falco. Lee, like Levon Helm, is a singing drummer; a rarity in todays music scene. Together, the three voices of Connor, Shawn, and Lee produce wonderful three part harmonies remeniscent of The Band, and The Grateful Dead.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
If you missed their previous 12 Grapes performances, now's your chance! Andy Aledort has performed with scores of rock legends... Dickey Betts, the Allman's and the late, great, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Famous for meticulously capturing, note-for-note, the licks and tone of artists like Clapton and Hendrix, Andy Aledort is often tapped for high-profile appearances. When a band needs a player who can recreate the guitar work of Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King or Johnny Winter, Andy delivers in a big way. Aledort was once sought after by Aerosmith's Joe Perry for an emergency Blues lesson, and has performed as a member of the Dickey Betts and Great Southern band for the last five years, displaying masterful slide guitar work. Aledort also participated in a series of Jimi Hendrix Tribute concerts, including a three-city tour of the west coast with veteran bluesman Buddy Guy. Dinner Reservations recommended.

Red Hook, NY   See Map
Jeremy Bar-Illan was a pioneer of the Power Pop trend in the late 70s and early 80s as a member of The Touchtones and The Moberlys. In the mid 80s he embarked on a solo career and broke new bounderies with the release of "Watch The Music," an album that combined the edge of rock & roll with electronic instrumentation. With "Locked In Love"Jeremy went big in the late 80s with an eight piece band featuring horns and rich vocals. The album displayed a more developed composition style with impressive horn scoring by Chaka Kahn's legendary scoring wizard, Cengiz Yaltkaya. In the 90s Jeremy turned yet another corner when he introduced The Woodpeckers, featuring Craig Thaler on violin., and a fresh acoustic sound. In the late 90s Jeremy explored the Rave world of Techno and House Music with the release of "Fly", a mostly instrumental venture. Jeremy is currently touring solo acoustic.

GANDALF MURPHY & THE SLAMBOVIAN CIRCUS OF DREAMS
Rock (progressive)

130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus Of Dreams has been variously described as "alt-country/ roots-rock," "folk-pop," "hillbilly-Floyd," and "surreal Americana" – a clear indicator of its singularly indescribable uniqueness. At the same time, their sound and even their songs feel so familiar, so classic, it's as if you've been listening to these characters all your life. The "Circus Of Dreams" has won critical acclaim as well as a fiercely loyal following. They've been Hudson Valley Magazine's "Band of the Year" for 3 years. The Circus' shows are notoriously un-staged, which is part of the fun and keeps their shows refreshingly real. However, while they don't take themselves too seriously, it's evident that they do take their jobs as music-makers very seriously: Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus Of Dreams brings you a show of precision, high-flying magic sure to delight one and all!

Keeping alive the tradition of roots/ska/reggae realness, the Big Takeover's refreshingly upbeat and original. You’ll find it hard to believe that all the cuts on their Debut CD "Following Too Close" are originals, as they magnificently capture early rocksteady riddims with supertight songwriting. Lead singer Nee Nee Rushie, a native of Jamaica, leads her five bandmates in what is arguably one of the best upstate NY groups in recent memory. The Big Takeover leans hard toward reggae’s more up-tempo parents, ska and rocksteady, and their high energy has audiences jamming from start to finish.

Motown, funk, latin and swing... This one-of-a-kind band is fluent in four musical languages. What makes Steve Wexler & The Top Shelf unique? For starters, the band is powered by original arrangements for a four-piece horn section whose members have performed with The Temptations, The Fifth Dimension and The Tonight Show Orchestra. These people have chops and groove. And, the horns are backed by a virtuoso rhythm section whose members have performed with Al Green, Audra McDonald, Jackson Browne, Larry Harlow and Bruce Springsteen. These people will get you rocking, guaranteed. And, the singers...? They are Broadway, B.B. King's and Apollo Theater veterans. Combine the band members with material and arrangements that you can't hear anyplace else and you have a result that is truly top shelf.

Roman gods like Bacchus went out of style a LONG time ago, but the spirits at Bacchus in New Paltz have been worshipped by SUNY students since the 1970's. And just like the song says, you KNOW rock and roll can never die. So break open the wine, and gather up the women, we're bringing the song.

We're opening for our friends, ORYAN -- not to be missed, folks. No togas necessary. See you there.

Mishti Roy is a singer/songwriter with a voice that is unique, soulful and moving... we think one of the most talented female vocalists in the Hudson Valley. The Fame features Mishti on lead vocals and guitar, Anthony Candullo on drums, Rich Kelly on bass and vocals and Chris Burke on keys. Tonight, The Fame will be joined by guest vocalist, Brian Collazo from Live Society (where Anthony is bass player). They'll be mixing it up with everything from Acoustic to all-out Rock music, performing original songs, pop/rock covers and ending with a full-blown dance set, "MJ" style! These talented musicians bring not only a unique sound, but a tremendous energy and excitement to the stage.

Alas, we'll be saying a final farewell to the band, "The Fame" so come out for this one-night-only, go-out-with-a-blast musical experience. It's gonna be one special night!
