We'll be rockin' and rollin' on the riverfront in Saugerties.
The Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy announces their annual music festival at the lighthouse. The festival is a family-friendly, all-ages event that supports the continued preservation of the historic Saugerties Lighthouse, a landmark of the Hudson River Valley. The lighthouse is open for tours of the interior during the festival instead of the usual tour schedule on this day. The festival is scheduled "between the tides" so that the 1/2-mile trail to the lighthouse is passable throughout the event [till 7:00 PM].

 MOTP, aka "Members of the Press," is a Long Island rock band whose members range in age from 11 to 13. The band plays a mix of classic and contemporary rock, as well as original pop/rock material. Brian (guitar/vocals) and Michael (drums/vocals) D'Addario are brothers who also have active careers as actors on Broadway (The Little Mermaid; All My Sons) and on television (HBO's John Adams; Are We There Yet?; CSI-NY). Close friends since preschool, Thomas Murphy (bass/vocals) and Danny Ayala (keyboards/vocals) complete the foursome, which has been together for three years now.  Chris Barron is many things to many people: the voice of the Spin Doctors, the face of the jamband scene, an MTV superstar, an East Village troubadour, the author of some of the 1990s' most enduring radio hits, a father and a teacher. But, these days, the Spin Doctors singer is most at home when he's simply playing rock and roll. The Spin Doctors' multi-platinum debut, Pocket Full of Kryptonite, became a grassroots success story, spawning ubiquitous hits like Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, Jimmy Olsen's Blues and the chart-topping Two Princes. The group was nominated for a Grammy, scored the cover of Rolling Stone and shared the stage with luminaries like the Rolling Stones. Then, at the height of his career, Barron was diagnosed with an acute form of vocal cord paralysis. Thanks to years of hard work and some good luck, Barron's voice eventually recovered, and he slowly returned to New York's vibrant club circuit.

 Led by one of the area's top slide guitarists, The Geoff Hartwell Band opened for Gregg Allman at the Paramount in Peekskill this past November (photo). Geoff has also performed with rock legends such as Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit and John Hammond and did a tour with guitarist Andy Aledort and drummer Yonrico Scott (from the Derek Trucks Band). In his recently released CD, "Hate to See You Go", Geoff is joined by long-time band members and world-class musicians including slide guitar legend Sonny Landreth.
The Geoff Hartwell Band features Geoff on slide guitar and vocals, Anna Leinbach on fiddle, Alex Nolan on guitar, Mike Wise on bass and JJ Clarke on drums. We're excited to welcome the GHB back to 12 Grapes.
