On Tour
with Bill Toms, and John Allaire
Singer-Songwriter
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Bill Tom and John Allaire are on tour and not to be missed!

Bill Tom's songs are stories he paints about the human condition, in all its frailty and triumph. During his 19 years of playing guitar and singing back-up vocals for the Houserockers, Bill recorded six studio albums and one live concert album. In 1995, the acclaimed CD, American Babylon, was recorded and produced by Bruce Springsteen.

John Allaire's vocals have been compared to Adam Duritz (Counting Crows), Bill Janovitz (Buffalo Tom), Joe Strummer (The Clash), Bob Mould (Husker Du), Paul Westerberg (Replacements) and many others of this ilk. His songwriting echoes that of Neil Young, Paul Westerberg, Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) and Elvis Costello.

with Rich Williams & The Secret Organ Trio
Jazz, Blues. Soul Jazz/Boogaloo
Arturo's Tavern
878 Route 6
Mahopac, NY   See Map
Led by saxophonist and Mahopac High School Band Director Rich Williams, the Secret Organ Trio's sound is rooted in the great American tradition of Hammond organ based jazz groups. The group plays soul jazz, a groove-infused style of jazz that incorporates blues, gospel and rhythm & blues. The sound is reminiscent of the great organ trios of the 1960's with some modern and original elements thrown in as well. The result is a fun atmosphere that moves people and makes everyone feel good.

The Artists Formerly Known As THREE AWAY
with Paul Miller Quartet
SNARF-play (Sequential-Nexus-Alternating-Referential-Format)
Main Street Pub
12 Main Street (Route 217)
Philmont, NY   See Map
Probably the Hudson Valley's best example of the SNARF movement in contemporary music, the Paul Miller Quartet (once known as THREE AWAY) is still a three piece band. Referring to themselves as a quartet is the trio's way of letting the listener know that he or she shares an equal part in creating the music they are hearing. You, the listener, join the three performers by actively taking in what they are playing and in doing so, make it a quartet. By always adding more material to their repertoire, much of it original, the PMQ continue to unfold artistically as they form a tighter bond with their audience by encouraging them to become part of the creative process. Who is Paul Miller? The group is still working that one out.

Jen Clapp
Singer-Songwriter
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Jen Clapp is a singer, songwriter and guitar player living and working in New York's Hudson Valley. Jen began writing her own songs in 1996, and formed another band, Michelle Eats Fire, with husband Dan on drums, Mark Bartlett on guitar and Matt Delaney on bass. Since then, Jen has been writing and recording music, and performing in and around New York City and the Hudson Valley. Much of her inspiration for songwriting comes from her deep relationships with family and friends, and an intense observation of the details of the world around her.

"Writing songs has become, for me, a way of making sense out of what I see and feel. I often have strong reactions to things in the world but can't always figure out why. Songwriting helps me to do that. I hope that it might be helpful to others, too, and that my music may add something meaningful to the dialogue that goes on in other people." Although we are only two members we bring the energy and excitment of a full band too every show. We play percussion on foot drums, tambourines, egg shakers, and generate harmonies, sing horn sections, and create guitar loops on the fly. We'll do everything in our arsenal to keep the groove going and fill the space of other instruments as we adapt songs that you love into an acoustic duo format. You will have a great time at our show!

Tom Dowd is known for his lightning-fast guitar work, clear, soaring vocals and fresh, compelling arrangements that span Rock, Blues, R&B and Pop classics. The band features the inimitable Tom Dowd on vocals and lead guitar. And this man can PLAY guitar. With Pete McGregor on drums, Barry "Buzzy" Garriola on bass. Kevin McSweeney rhythm guitar, who provides the unshakable and perfectly-chosen solos that make each song a new classic... and Rene Carlson, one of the best harp players around (and one of very few female blues harp players) with her impressive energy & powerhouse solos. ... these guys ROCK!

Hear what the pros have to say about Buried in Blue: "If you want to catch an incredible live performance of Classic Rock, Pop and Blues with pitch-perfect vocals, powerful drums, and some hot Hendrix-style guitar, see these guys soon....Buried in Blue is buried in talent."

His passion and reverence for the country blues of the 20's and 30's is infectious, and he instills a new interest in this roots music wherever he performs. Scott Alarik, folk music writer for the "Boston Globe" said, "Poor Howard's 12-string guitar has the solid propulsive groove of a stead-moving freight train; and he has an uncanny way of singing classic blues tunes as if their hard luck stories were happening today. In his care, old songs never seem old, but timeless, personal, pulsing with knowable human emotions. His own songs nestle beside them as if they grew up together."

A Special Father's Day
with Michael Nappi
Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
We're excited to welcome Michael Nappi to our 12 Grapes stage, a singer/songwriter whose talent has gained the attention--and airtime--of many radio stations across the country, including New York's Backyard. "We play Michael Nappi on the radio at The Peak for one simple reason: his music is, at its heart, the very essence of World Class Rock." (Caroline Corley, Host of 107.1 The Peak After Hours).

Nappi's first CD, "Here We Go Again", displays Michael's ability to transition seamlessly from sensitive, acoustic-based ballads to explosive pop/rock anthems, with songwriting that is fresh and from the heart. His influences include James Taylor, Michael McDonald, Stevie Wonder, and some of today's most inventive artists including John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Train's Pat Monahan. "They are the Shakespeares of our time," he says.

Enjoy our Father's Day Special: $18 Steak Dinner.
