Ska. Reggae
The Chance
6 Crannell St
Poughkeepsie, NY   See Map
For more information and to enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Badfish show of your choice, visit Badfish.com

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does!

Blues guitarist-singer Debbie Davies first gained widespread notice during her three years with the late Albert Collins' band, The Icebreakers. Her roles included solo & rhythm guitar, vocalist and guitar "duelist" with Collins, who called her "a great guitar player who sure can play the blues." She has worked with blues icons like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Koko Taylor and John Mayall (who gave her a rare and unequivocal endorsement). Her gritty vocals and searing guitar work have drawn comparisons to Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Stretching the parameters of acoustic music, Fuzz and Carrie's "CARAVAN OF THIEVES" have been winning immediate praise for their new and unique brand ofgypsy flavored song writing and their high intensity show. This vocal harmonizing, acoustic guitar spanking husband & wife duo have now extended their family to include fiery violinist Ben Dean and double bass madman, Brian Anderson to complete their colorful vision. Their Beatlesque vocal harmonies, driving & swinging rhythms, satirical & dramatic song writing and an overall circus of sound make for a fun and musically satisfying show.

The crisp, brotherly-like harmony and memorable melodies of Mick Lynch & Kevin May ~ Ireland's pop/folk act GUGGENHEIM GROTTO ~ have touched US and UK audiences in a way the duo couldn’t have imagined, captivating audiences and tastemakers on both sides of the pond with their mix of poetic, often literature-inspired lyrics set to timeless, soaring pop melodies.

"New York Boss Guitar Man" Dave Fields is a "genre busting" guitarist whose performances are always electrifying, awe-inspiring and intensely passionate. Dave has worked with many musical legends including Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, Sean Lennon, The Drifters and Tommy James.

Tonight, we're pleased to welcome back Dave and his special guest, JT Lauritsen, a Blues artist from Norway whose band, JT Lauritsen and the Buckshot Hunters, perform around the globe. Last year, JT and Dave performed at the Ground Zero Blues Club in Memphis. The Blues harp and accordion (his "squeezebox") are JT's signature sound. Add that to the virtuoso guitar playing of Dave Fields and you're in for one sweet night of Blues.

Last time out, these guys drove the audience wild. Be sure to check out the incredible chemistry and musicality of this dynamic band.

Born in the suburbs of DC to an accomplished local photographer and an internationally seasoned vocalist/pianist, Aleksis Bilmanis was primed for success as a singer/songwriter from the womb.

Insightful and uplifting, his music speaks volumes yet retains a playful and catchy quality that will keep you listening for hours. His songs possess a hypnotic and earthy intelligence; a homage to his Latvian heritage.

Years of performing in the Mid- Atlantic Region lend a clear sophistication to the unique energy he creates at every show. Whether he is performing with a full band or is standing alone in the spotlight with his guitar, you will be moved; mind, body and soul.

This year marks the official release of "World Around" thru Aleksis' own label Sveiks Records, adding yet another accolade to this extremely talented and resourceful independent performing and recording artist.
