Q: What type of home has no corners, is impervious to extreme weather, is energy efficient, beautiful, and costs only $125 per square foot to construct? A: A Monolithic Dome. For the past two years, musician and sustainable housing visionary Peggy Atwood has been working tirelessly to be able to continue living in her award-winning dome home that she decided to build after having nearly lost one home to a tornado and another to a forest fire. The curved dome shape was aesthetically pleasing, and Peggy knew from her international travels to ancient archeological sites that the dome, especially when combined with modern technology, is structurally very sound. The economic climate has proven disastrous, costing Peggy her savings and her ability to recoup the expenses needed to complete the project. Like many hard-working Americans, she faces foreclosure. Her friends and musical colleagues are coming together to help keep Peggy from becoming domeless. Sugg donation $20 More info about this event and Peggy's Dome

Sunday 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm | Maggie Seligman Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music.

Friday 8:00 pm | Art Show and Live Show with Pal Shazar Folk/Traditional. Folk, folk/rock | Alchemy of Woodstock 297 Tinker Street Woodstock, NY See Map
Pal Shazar was born, raised and punished in Los Angeles, California. Her musical career began at a time when creative souls roamed wildly on the east coast. She began writing songs in the late 70’s, inspired by artists Patti Smith, Television, and Iggy Pop, all of whom she illustrated for the local rock fanzine Back Door Man while working nights as a ticket girl at the famed Troubadour nightclub. Together with partner Andrew Chinich she created the band Slow Children in the early eighties and began playing clubs in L.A. A highly cerebral duo, their music consisted of guitar driven pop laced with intellectual lyrics. Slow Children soon caught the eye of producer Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, Pretenders) and musician Jules Shear who together produced a demo for the group. A single released by Jet Records caught the ear of maverick A&R man Nigel Grainge in the U.K. ... for more info, please visit Pal's website. Do not miss this! Los Angeles, CA (March 30, 2009) — “THE HEROES OF WOODSTOCK” featuring eleven original performers from the most important event in rock music history have joined together to tour the world in celebration of and tribute to “The Original Three Days of Peace & Music” that occurred at Yasgur’s Farm in Bethel, NY in August 1969. Jefferson Starship will perform Jefferson Airplane’s set & more, Canned Heat, Ten Years After and Grateful Dead alumnus Tom Constanten will perform, Big Brother & The Holding Co. will perform Janis Joplin’s set and Country Joe McDonald will perform and host - as they did Aug. 15 & 16, 40 years ago in Bethel, NY … and shall again … at the actual 40th Anniversary – on ‘hallowed’ ground at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts this Aug. 15. Melanie, John Sebastian and special guest performers shall also appear on select dates. The tour pays further homage to the original festival as every ticket purchaser shall be given the free soundboard download of the entire performance they actually attend. “Woodstock was not only iconic for the music,” points out tour co-producer and Jefferson Starship manager Michael Gaiman, “but also for the fact that so many fans got in for free and that such an instantly large population co-existed peacefully.
