Q: What type of home has no corners, is impervious to extreme weather, is energy efficient, beautiful, and costs only $125 per square foot to construct? A: A Monolithic Dome.

For the past two years, musician and sustainable housing visionary Peggy Atwood has been working tirelessly to be able to continue living in her award-winning dome home that she decided to build after having nearly lost one home to a tornado and another to a forest fire. The curved dome shape was aesthetically pleasing, and Peggy knew from her international travels to ancient archeological sites that the dome, especially when combined with modern technology, is structurally very sound.

The economic climate has proven disastrous, costing Peggy her savings and her ability to recoup the expenses needed to complete the project. Like many hard-working Americans, she faces foreclosure.

Her friends and musical colleagues are coming together to help keep Peggy from becoming domeless. Sugg donation $20

My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
"Country flavored folk steeped in Texas and Louisiana with New York grit." That about sums up Steve Chizmadia, a songwriter from Long Island who has the Long Horns of Texas in his soul. Each song tells a story, and brings us to places across the country in his own endearing, Americana style. His songs have received some acclaim over the years. Steve is a 2003 Kerrville New Folk finalist and in 2005 his song "This Old Town" received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He has showcased at Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in New York, and "It Is What It Is" was #12 on the folk D.J. charts in 2007.

Whether he's singing pull-at-your-heartstrings tunes like "It's Always Texas" or economic-comic-relief songs like "The Wall Street Fat Cat Tax Payer Bailout Blues", Steve Chizmadia is a songwriter not to be missed.

Spin Magazine praises that THE MACHINE "sound exactly like Pink Floyd" while The Village Voice declares that "The Machine is dead-on." The adoration continues from Bob Ezrin, the co-producer of Pink Floyd's seminal album The Wall, "these guys are great!" The New York Times, Washington Post, and Philadelphia Inquirer have all chimed in on the precision performances of The Machine.

The New York-based band performs a show comprised of a cross-section of the sixteen-album repertoire that Pink Floyd amassed during their 30-year tenure as pioneers of experimental rock. The concerts are presented with state-of-the-art lighting, multi-media show and impeccable sound, resulting in strikingly faithful interpretations, along with impromptu jams. These performances have been perfected over time and have exposed the group to an ever expanding, international fan base.

Performing at some of America's most respected venues, THE MACHINE has sold out numerous shows at venues such as the legendary BB King's Blues Club (NYC), the Keswick Theatre (PA) the Whitaker Center (PA), the State Theatre (VA), the Lincoln Theatre (NC), Higher Ground (VT),). The band is has also graced the stages of some of the most popular music festivals including Bonnaroo, Musikfest, and the Westbury Music Fair.

As Guitar One magazine notes, "you know you've got it going on when you sell out BB King's in New York City and Roger Water's sax player jams with you." THE MACHINE makes significant use of expanded theatrical elements prevalent in Pink Floyd's elaborate stage displays such as spectacular lighting and multimedia accompaniments. THE MACHINE has performed numerous sellout shows in sync with the film "The Wizard of Oz" as well as film Call for TX 845 647 3821

Alchemy of Woodstock
297 Tinker Street
Woodstock, NY   See Map
Pal Shazar was born, raised and punished in Los Angeles, California. Her musical career began at a time when creative souls roamed wildly on the east coast. She began writing songs in the late 70’s, inspired by artists Patti Smith, Television, and Iggy Pop, all of whom she illustrated for the local rock fanzine Back Door Man while working nights as a ticket girl at the famed Troubadour nightclub.

Together with partner Andrew Chinich she created the band Slow Children in the early eighties and began playing clubs in L.A. A highly cerebral duo, their music consisted of guitar driven pop laced with intellectual lyrics. Slow Children soon caught the eye of producer Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, Pretenders) and musician Jules Shear who together produced a demo for the group. A single released by Jet Records caught the ear of maverick A&R man Nigel Grainge in the U.K. ... for more info, please visit Pal's website. Do not miss this!

Gil toured as lead guitarist for Blood, Sweat & Tears, and has played with pop & jazz legends such as David Sanborn, Bob James, Will Lee, Eric Alexander, Bob Malach, David Clayton-Thomas, Toni Braxton, Chuck Rainey to name but a few. Gil performs at many prestigious NYC clubs like BB King's.

You can't help but get up and dance to this band!!! Jerry and the "Brothers" are one of the tightest, coolest, funky-est, baddest bands around. Whatever you do, do not miss this performance. Jerry's an accomplished singer, songwriter and bass player, influenced by the Blues and Country Music. His entree into the NYC Blues scene was by way of the now infamous Dan Lynch Blues Bar, running the Saturday afternoon jam session there. This little bar became the hub of the Blues scene in NYC. Jerry calls his time there "an education that could not be replicated." His band is comprised of a lighting-fast guitarist, killer drummer and a keyboard player who also wails on the sax.

"My mission is to write and sing great songs. A great song can touch you the way nothing else can. A great song can take complex issues and break them down so everyone can understand them." Well said, Jerry.

The Exclusive Authorized Touring Commemorative of the 1969 Woodstock Music & Arts Festival Announces U.S. Tour Dates Website to launch Apr. 22, Earth Day! Los Angeles, CA (March 30, 2009) — “THE HEROES OF WOODSTOCK” featuring eleven original performers from the most important event in rock music history have joined together to tour the world in celebration of and tribute to “The Original Three Days of Peace & Music” that occurred at Yasgur’s Farm in Bethel, NY in August 1969. Under exclusive license from Michael Lang and Woodstock Ventures LC, “HOW” wil perform 40 U.S. dates, and additional concerts around the world. Jefferson Starship will perform Jefferson Airplane’s set & more, Canned Heat, Ten Years After and Grateful Dead alumnus Tom Constanten will perform, Big Brother & The Holding Co. will perform Janis Joplin’s set and Country Joe McDonald will perform and host - as they did Aug. 15 & 16, 40 years ago in Bethel, NY … and shall again … at the actual 40th Anniversary – on ‘hallowed’ ground at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts this Aug. 15. Melanie, John Sebastian and special guest performers shall also appear on select dates. The tour pays further homage to the original festival as every ticket purchaser shall be given the free soundboard download of the entire performance they actually attend. “Woodstock was not only iconic for the music,” points out tour co-producer and Jefferson Starship manager Michael Gaiman, “but also for the fact that so many fans got in for free and that such an instantly large population co-existed peacefully. It is in this spirit that we are adding the free download perk, something no one has ever done before on this scale.”
