After realizing how good it sounded, they started getting together in each other’s homes once a week to sing, and The Cover Girlz were born. To the delight of all who knew them individually, they started playing out together. Paul Mesches, guitarist/percussionist, composer and arranger for musical theater, commercials, film, video and industrials, is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and the Concert Band Director at Lakeland High School.
Cary Brown has appeared on the Conan O'Brien Show, toured with Sloan Wainwright, and performed in Europe and Japan. He is a composer and musical director for the Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, The Steffi Nossen School of Dance, and the Harvey Cavalier Camp.
Joe Stelluti is a featured soloist for symphonic orchestras, Big Bands and musical theater, is one of the most highly respected woodwind masters and educators in New York, and teaches in Lakeland School District. |

OLIVEBRIDGE -- The Ashokan Center will have its second annual Catskill Mountain Eco-Heritage Festival on Sept. 4 and 5.
In a magical setting of 374 acres of streams, fields and forests in the foothills of the Catskills, the festival will feature fiddle, guitar, and banjo music, ecology and nature photography workshops, hands-on Colonial crafts, guided hikes, storytelling, dancing, and an alternative energy fair.
Participants can join in living and oral history, Native American technology, help build a traditional clay/cob oven and "make your own" pizza.
The festival will conclude Saturday evening with a concert and dance beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for daytime activities, $10 for evening performances. Kids under 5 are free.

 The landscape that Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles have traversed over the past few years with her smoky, honeyed vocals and scorching guitar work is plenty varied – taking in scenes as diverse as roadhouse melancholy to unashamedly guileless romanticism, and all the way to all-out rocking punk. While Borges readily acknowledges devouring songs from recordings that were made decades before she was born, she has always offset those influences with the music of the here-and-now. Borges is "A modern-minded honky-tonker with a retro streak" (New York Times) and "a reminder of how much fun music can be" (Fresh Air, NPR).
Although RED ROOSTER's roots remain firmly planted in Americana and Alt-Country, the band has created a highly original and urban-infused sound that landed them a gig at the 2008 Newport Folk Festival.  They're back together again, but only for a precious few, not-to-be-missed concerts. Amy Fradon and Leslie Ritter's luscious vocal harmonies as session singers for Orleans, Rick Danko, John Sebastian and Dr. John led to their twelve-year collaboration as a duo.
As singer-songwriters they recorded six albums and reached their commercial apex nationally with their rendition of the Yes classic "Your Move," which topped the Billboard charts and aired as a video on VH1.
Joining them for this special reunion performance will be Grammy-nominated producer and bassist Scott Petito and guitarist and vocalist Helen Avakian. |

Alchemy is Woodstock's newest music venue/community gathering space. It's a beautiful living room-like space offering a live, intimate setting for acoustic music with an excellent sound system and lights. Since Alchemy opened this past spring, a host of regional and national performers have graced its stage, but Alchemy also holds space for emerging and local artists, too. All in all, it's an incredible gathering place for the community where creative workshops can take place and where you can find inspiring literature on its bookshelves and art on its walls. Alchemy is struggling now to keep its doors open, and it seems fitting that the community come together to keep Alchemy from shuttering its doors. If you haven't been to Alchemy yet, make it a point to go, and bring your appetite and a couple of friends, too. You will not be sorry.
