 Come and paddle the tranquil waters of the Esopus Creek above the dam in Saugerties, visiting the coves and wetlands of Esopus Bend Nature Preserve, and the shoreline to the south guided by ECC volunteer Steve Hart. Bring your own kayak or canoe. All participants MUST wear a personal floatation device (life vest). In the event of rain or threat of lightening, the event will be cancelled. Children are welcome and encouraged, but please do not bring pets. Meet 9:30 a.m. at the Saugerties Village Beach parking lot on US Rte. 9W, just north of the Esopus Creek bridge at the foot of Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties. Participants will put-in at the beach.This event is free and open to the public. No pre-registeration is required.

| The Alchemy Unit was formed in 2004 through the mind and music of Ash Umhey, a guitarist who had been playing around the Woodstock music scene since 1998. Following the embryonic debut Bird Lips, things began to take shape with the release of the Moon Strings on the Fringe album in 2006. The following year, The Alchemy Unit moved to a new studio to begin recording the next album entitled Eprouvette Ascenseur, and rehearsing for some live shows. By late 2008, the band had settled into a new lineup, equally divided between extended improvisations and structured material. Ash has also been recording and performing with Venture Lift, Les Bicyclettes Blanches, and Aria Pullman. |

 The Track is a New York based original rock band featuring Chris Burke, Rich Kelly, and Andrew Bordeaux, songwriters who've polished their performance chops in various bands around NYC and Westchester. The Track flavors its composition with hammond organ, piano and accordion via Chris Burke, guitar and violin from Andrew Bordeaux, and bass and guitar from Rich Kelly. Each member is a featured singer. Their songs range from down tempo, mood pieces to pop/rock vehicles for rich harmonies and improvisation.

OLIVEBRIDGE -- The Ashokan Center will have its second annual Catskill Mountain Eco-Heritage Festival on Sept. 4 and 5.
In a magical setting of 374 acres of streams, fields and forests in the foothills of the Catskills, the festival will feature fiddle, guitar, and banjo music, ecology and nature photography workshops, hands-on Colonial crafts, guided hikes, storytelling, dancing, and an alternative energy fair.
Participants can join in living and oral history, Native American technology, help build a traditional clay/cob oven and "make your own" pizza.
The festival will conclude Saturday evening with a concert and dance beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for daytime activities, $10 for evening performances. Kids under 5 are free.

 The landscape that Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles have traversed over the past few years with her smoky, honeyed vocals and scorching guitar work is plenty varied – taking in scenes as diverse as roadhouse melancholy to unashamedly guileless romanticism, and all the way to all-out rocking punk. While Borges readily acknowledges devouring songs from recordings that were made decades before she was born, she has always offset those influences with the music of the here-and-now. Borges is "A modern-minded honky-tonker with a retro streak" (New York Times) and "a reminder of how much fun music can be" (Fresh Air, NPR).
Although RED ROOSTER's roots remain firmly planted in Americana and Alt-Country, the band has created a highly original and urban-infused sound that landed them a gig at the 2008 Newport Folk Festival.
