I am now exploring the uncharted territory of a new solo career. I'm totally immersing myself in the New York scene, singing and playing just an acoustic guitar and harmonica almost every night of the week at various bars, cafes and cabarets all over town and out of town.  Incomparable and highly celebrated jazz vocalist Lillie Bryant-Howard joins with jazz pianist/arranger Lonnie Leibowitz and his trio to pay tribute to the great Dinah Washington.
Lillie, of Billy & Lillie (late 50s/60s), recorded top-of-the chart hits Lucky Lady Bug, La-Dee-Dah, Good Morning Baby and Smokey Gray Eyes, has appeared with Mickey & Sylvia at the world famous Apollo Theater, has toured with Chuck Berry, Big Bopper, Chantels, Jackie Wilson, Frankie Lymon and others, and has appeared with Sam Cook and on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.
Over the past 10 years Lillie has performed with organist Jimmy McGriff, innovative drummer Bernard Purdie, the late pianist/vocalist, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan. Her newest recording, Stepping Through The Center, (WÜJa Promotions) is slated to be released in late 2009.

Alchemy is Woodstock's newest music venue/community gathering space. It's a beautiful living room-like space offering a live, intimate setting for acoustic music with an excellent sound system and lights. Since Alchemy opened this past spring, a host of regional and national performers have graced its stage, but Alchemy also holds space for emerging and local artists, too. All in all, it's an incredible gathering place for the community where creative workshops can take place and where you can find inspiring literature on its bookshelves and art on its walls. Alchemy is struggling now to keep its doors open, and it seems fitting that the community come together to keep Alchemy from shuttering its doors. If you haven't been to Alchemy yet, make it a point to go, and bring your appetite and a couple of friends, too. You will not be sorry. We always look forward to the diversity, surprise (last month, a 7-year old guitarist showed up and played "TNT" by AC/DC!!) and talent that accompanies one of Petey's Open Mics. Our Open Mics are mostly Acoustic, but most styles of music are welcome. We invite all talented artists to come take the stage and enjoy one of the most talked about music venues in Westchester.
