A Great CO-BILL !!!
with Bob Malone, The Wiyos
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Bob Malone composes music for Dr. Phil, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and The Rachel Ray Show, and is an in-demand session player and arranger. Recent dates have included projects for Peer Music Publishing and Kevin Richardson. Bob's songs have been used on TV: Jag, Felicity, Cupid, One Life To Live, The Young & the Restless, All My Children - and in films: Hollywood Palms, Jaded, P.S. I Love You, and One Eyed Horse. Bob Malone has toured the world tirelessly, logging over 100 dates a year both as a headliner and as support act for The Neville Brothers, Rev. Al Green, Boz Scaggs, Manhattan Transfer, Leon Russell, Subdudes, and Vonda Shepard, to name just a few. Current awards include Artist of the Year and Singer/Songwriter Album of the Year at the Just Plain Folks 2006 Music Awards, Songwriter of the Year at the 2007 South Bay Music Awards, and the ASCAP Plus Award.

Drawing from a vast spectrum of traditional American rural and urban roots music, the internationally acclaimed, Brooklyn-based quartet, The Wiyos, craft a startlingly fresh yet strangely familiar sound. Taking their name from the late 19th century NY city Irish street gang, the Whyos, the band began as street performers in New York and New Orleans. The group has spent over six years touring Europe, the UK and the US, honing their virtuosic musical chops and fusing their tireless curiosity of various traditional American musical idioms with their own contemporary influences. They have arrived at a show that is as much visually exciting as it is sonically evocative. Their song repertoire combines original compositions with covers from tin-pan alley to western swing. A typical show may include rustic sounds of the 1930's and 40's as well as electric post-modern sound-scapes with smart lyrics. The Wiyos have recently been featured in the BBC film documentary: Folk America-Hollerers, Stompers, and Old-time Ramblers; for which they played to a sold-out audience of two thousand at the Barbican Theater in London.

The Powder Kegs are three 22 year old guys who have been making music together since they were kids. Sam (drums, fiddle, noise), Daniel Z (guitars and vocals) and Ryan D (basses, rhodes piano, and vocals) first played together in a bluegrass band when they were in high school. Thewy eventually progressed to Old-Time music and started a string band called "The Powder Kegs." They made a living playing up and down the eastern coast on street corners, bars, and at festivals. They were such a good string band that in the spring of 2007 they were invited to perform live on Garrison Keillor's 'A Prairie Home Companion' as finalists in its "People in Their 20's" contest and they won. After that they went into full time writing mode, plugged in their instruments, and released "You and Your Right Now," recorded with Jeremy Backofen, producer of albums by The Felice Brothers, The Walkmen, Frightened R

Sarah Morr is the Hudson Valley's original hypnotic acoustic groove act. Her sweet and sultry voice, haunting chords, and heartfelt words, best describe her performance. Though Sarah's music is a mixture of visions, emotions, and classic influences, its profound rock tales are melodic and brutally honest. Honest enough to raise tiny, prickly goose bumps during the process."
