The Poughkeepsie-based band, known for its timeless classic rock and pop music, will perform all the great Billy Joel hits as part of the special tribute.  Kairos is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and our concert program features highlights from the group’s vast repertoire of a cappella choral music, including Hugo Wolf’s lushly romantic Sechs Geistliche Lieder, Benjamin Britten’s exquisite Hymn to St. Cecilia (on a poem by W. H. Auden), and Samuel Barber’s beautifully crafted settings of Irish poetry, Reincarnations. In honor of the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage, the program also includes works by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, the leading Dutch composer of the early 17th century (and a contemporary of Hudson's), and modern Dutch composers Ton de Leeuw and Julius Rontgen. Tickets are $12 general, $8 students/seniors.
