Saturday 8:30 pm | Valentines Dinner Dance with Larry Chance & The Earls, HOTFLASH | Bodles Opera House 39 Main Street Chester, NY See Map |
Spanning from the late 1950's into the new millennium, the Earls have continuously been pleasing audiences with their flawless harmonies, ceaseless vitality and endearing dedication to their fans. Larry Chance & the Earls represent the music that helped define Rock 'N' Roll, the original doo wop era that put the street corner- society onto the national charts. Larry and company have placed many songs on the charts, including: "Life Is But a Dream", "Never", "I Believe", and of course the classic "Remember Then". They still enjoy performing them, and always include the audience as a part of the show. The Performance will feature audience participation and comedy. Larry's comedy talents were featured on the Imus in the Morning show, where he performed, memorably, for a ten year period as the voice of characters, such as, Geraldo "Santana Banana", and the streetwise "Rainbow Johnson". Saturday 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm | Frances Kramer Singer-Songwriter | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map
This is what happens when a talented singer/songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist taps into the deep roots of American music with a pop sensibility to create original music that is as entertaining as it is sincere and heartfelt. Raised on classical, pop, folk, and rock music in historic Wethersfield, Connecticut (one of the hippest places to be in the 1600’s), Frances Kramer was trained on piano and oboe and self-taught on guitar, banjo, and voice. After making an escape from Bryn Mawr College, she found herself singing country and folk tunes and playing the banjo for a meager living followed by singing and playing guitar in rock bands for no living. While living in a converted school bus camper in the northeast corner of the state, she began to compose poetry and to write songs and instrumental music.

Saturday 4:00 pm | ADRENALINE HAYRIDE Bluegrass, Roots Music | Towne Crier Cafe 130 Route 22 Pawling, NY See Map
Featuring Chris Leske, Craig Vance, Dave Bevins & Arlin Greene
Individually, these veteran pickers have been winning honors (too numerous to mention here) since the early '70s. They have also toured with the likes of Bill Keith, Doc & Merle Watson, the Country Gentleman, Norman Blake and, of course, The McKrells -- playing alongside these other legends and/or opening for them on stages from country festivals to Carnegie Hall. Together, in this new progressive bluegrass band, they play fast and fun, but their compositions also express the entire range of human emotion.

George "grussell" Perna was born on June 11, 1956 in Middletown NY. He studied classical piano for ten years during his school years and plays several other instruments other then piano. Joe sings with the band and sometimes includes a 4th harmony part. Chris Dalton is our drummer. An awesome one too. We came across chris through a friend Sam Martin and he never played country music in his life, but you'd never know. Saturday 9:00 pm | EILEN JEWELL BAND, also guest RED DIRT ROAD Singer-Songwriter, Roots Music, and Country | Towne Crier Cafe 130 Route 22 Pawling, NY See Map
Eilen Jewell's stage presence and the easy slide of her voice suggest the lifetime experience of a country torch singer from the '40s, having another go 'round in a fresh, new life. Her songs come on like the nakedness of a thunderstorm after a sultry day: "You show me the well, but you don't let me drink." When she hisses that she's "Too Hot to Sleep," you know she ain't talking about the weather, and you know exactly why she's "going some place where they never say your name." Eilen's heart-achingly hushed style and intimate grasp of roots music's wild graces are set to a swaying, irrepressible groove by her band, evoking classic country, folk and swing without feeling nostalgic. The Boston Globe also celebrates "the slow organic sway of her melodies, and the sensual way she rubs against the low end of her register..." More info at the Towne Crier Cafe

Sunday 7:00 pm | "Come Back To Me" - Jeanne Celebrates Miss Peggy Lee with Jeanne MacDonald Cabaret | Bodles Opera House 39 Main Street Chester, NY See Map |
Jeanne MacDonald Celebrates Miss Peggy Lee NY TIMES critic Stephen Holden writes that "Watching a singer like Jeanne MacDonald, who brings an emotional balance, a subtle, good humored sexiness and originality to everything she sings, makes you realize the crucial role good instincts play..." In her highly acclaimed show "Come Back To Me," award-winning performer Jeanne MacDonald brings to Bodles a glowing celebration of Miss Peggy Lee. With Lee classics such as "Fever", "Black Coffee" and "It's A Good Day as" well as some of Lee's lesser known material, MacDonald proves herself an artist with both the sensibility and sensitivity to convey the essence of this legend, weaving her spell with finesse. Jeanne MacDonald has earned a reputation as one of NYC's finest singers in cabaret today. She is considered an honest interpreter of the lyric, "a lyricist’s dream" according to Cabaret Scenes' Peter Leavy, and her performances both in and out of the city have been recognized extensively. Renowned NY pianist David Budway joins MacDonald along with Latin Grammy nominated percussionist Mayra Casales and internationally acclaimed bassist Jennifer Vincent performing arrangements developed by Rick Jensen. Originally from Freeport, Long Island, NY, Jeanne MacDonald is a graduate of the Crane School of Music who now resides in Sullivan County and continues to share the joy of music with her students in the Minisink Valley School District in Orange County. 2008 MAC Award Winner -- 2008 New York City Nightlife Award Finalist -- 2005 Julie Wilson Award for Excellence in Cabaret -- 2004 New York City Nightlife Award Winner for Cabaret Vocalist -- 2004 MAC Award Winner for Female Vocalist -- BACK STAGE Bistro Award Winner Web Site: www.jeannemacdonald.com Doors open at 5:30 pm Tickets: $40.00 Dinner & Show / $25.00 Show Only Order online or call 845-469-4595 for reservations. Songs like "Praise God for The Rain", "Use Me In A Mighty Way", and "I Will Rise Up Singing" have become standards in churches where she plays. With songs like "Twenty-One Guns","Broken Purple Heart", and "You Do The Job Right", the men in her audience - from soldiers to senators - get a feeling of empathy and appreciation seldom enjoyed in their own lives. The women in the audience also appreciate songs like "She Bought Your Love","Gotta Cut You Loose", and "Dangerous Curves" - a boot-stomping song about the power of a woman's body - which gives them the feeling that someone understands what's important to them too.

And that's the truth...don't miss this show because when you miss the Blues Party...you miss something special. Big Joe Fitz & The Blues Party Band Robert Bard - bass & vocals, Mark Dziuba - guitar & vocals, Tim Whalen - drums & vocals

Friday 8:00 pm | A Great CO-BILL ! with Deni Bonet, Project Mercury | Bodles Opera House 39 Main Street Chester, NY See Map |
Deni Bonet, Lilith Fair performing artist, is a singer/songwriter and classically-trained violinist who quit the classical world early in her career because she hated having to wear black and sit still! Deni has either recorded or performed with REM, Sarah McLachlan, Chris Whitley, Cyndi Lauper, Daniel Lanois, Gravity Kills & Robyn Hitchcock amongst many others. She was an original member of the cast of the nationally syndicated radio show, MOUNTAIN STAGE; singing and performing in her own right and accompanying guests on the show - anyone from Richard Thompson to the Indigo Girls to Warren Zevon to Allen Toussaint. Project Mercury "Hudson Valley Magazine's Best New Band of 2006" officially launched in 1998 when Nyack singer, songwriter and guitarist Marian Mastrorilli teamed up with Albany violinist and vocalist Charlene Donohue. After spending a year backed by an electric rock band, the duo refocused into acoustic mode to better cast the spotlight on their intricate harmonies, violin and sensitive lyrics. Guitarist Craig Fox signed on in January '03, bringing a third voice into the mix; cellist Jeanne DaSilva added to their evolution in January '05, transforming Project Mercury into a string quartet! The band is a harmonious unit both literally and personally, and their camaraderie comes across loud and clear onstage as they include the audience in on their fun. Three distinct voices take turns in the spotlight and back one another for lush harmonies: Marian's airy soprano, Charlene's earthy alto and Craig's rich baritone. Jeanne's cello and basslines interweave with violin over a backdrop of solid acoustic guitar work. Web Sites: www.denibonet.com www.projectmercury.net Doors open at 6:30 pm Tickets: Advance $15.00 / Day of Show $18.00 Order online or call 845-469-4595 for reservations. Directions To Bodles
