Singer and guitarist Steve Kirkman opens Nov. 9 for acoustic folk trio Red Molly who will be performing a crisp blend of harmonies on the heels of their newly-released album, “Love and Other Tragedies.” The 4 p.m. concert is being hosted in association with WKZE 98.1 in Red Hook. Red Molly includes Laurie MacAllister (vocals, guitar, banjo), Abbie Gardner (vocals, Dobro, guitar) and Carolann Solebello (vocals, guitar, bass, mandolin). They have been praised by Scott Alarik of The Boston Globe for their starmaking qualities, including the ardor of their music, their "tick-tight arrangements, crystalline vocals and caramel harmonies." Kirkman, a Hudson Valley resident, describes his music as Alectro-Americana: part acoustic, part electric, part hot rod, part farm tractor. His musical influences range from early blues of the deep South to the rock-n-roll of Bruce Springsteen. Tickets: $15. For information, call 845-876-3080.

with Dave Siegel, 3 Guys From Gotham
Comedic
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Dave Siegel knows what it takes to make it in the comedic arena and at just 30 years old, promises to be worth keeping an eye on. With close to 7 hectic, frantic and hilarious years doing what it takes, he is plotting a steady course built on solid stage work and the accelerated maturing of his material. While Dave regularly focuses on relationships, family and religion, he is equally comfortable making political and social commentaries. There is no subject Dave is afraid to touch and enjoys pushing the envelope on issues other comics won't go near. His strength lies in an intelligent straight forward and dry wit that appeals to older crowds but exudes a youthful sarcasm that allows him to deliver poignant jokes while never cracking a smile himself. Dave is a regular at comedy clubs such as Carolines on Broadway and Improv Comedy Clubs around the nation. He has opened for comic giants such as Louie Anderson, Dom Irerra and Richard Lewis among many others. He has appeared on CNN, MSG in Comedy Central's 'Laugh Riots.' You can hear him on a daily basis on both Siruis and XM Radio.

AN EVENING OF JAZZ & BLUES STANDARDS
with KAT SPINA
Jazz, Blues
DOCKSIDE PUB
825 South Lake Boulevard
Mahopac, NY   See Map
Kat Spina's evolution in becoming a sultry jazz & blues singer was by no means an accident. After graduating with honors from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Music Therapy and Jazz Performance, Kat honed her style performing throughout the Hudson Valley. Tonight she is backed up by Rich Berta. Rich is no stranger to Dockside. He has appeared here five times with Something New, the Beatles tribute band that always sells out. Rich's guitar will weep and Kat's voice will be singing the blues. It's sure to be a great night of music. There is no cover for this performance. The performers appreciate your acknowledgement of their efforts.
