Her roles included solo & rhythm guitar, vocalist and guitar "duelist" with Collins, who called her "a great guitar player who sure can play the blues." She has worked with blues icons like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Koko Taylor and John Mayall (who gave her a rare and unequivocal endorsement). Her gritty vocals and searing guitar work have drawn comparisons to Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

YOUNG DUBLINERS
Celtic, Rock (modern)
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
Musing about the band's sound, band member Keith Roberts sums up the Young Dubliners' approach to their music, be it Celtic, rowdy pub tunes, Irish-flavored anthemic rock ...or just plain rock: "I like to think that our take on songwriting & performance makes the Young Dubliners' sound unique and original. Our band is made up of Irish and American natives who draw influences from just about everywhere. Our strength is in the sum of our parts." The Young Dubliners, who have become notorious for the whirling "jig pits" that erupt at their shows, have headlined tours in the US and Europe, as well as opening for acts such as Jethro Tull, John Hiatt and Robert Cray. They've also been joined in the studio by musicians like Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull, and Eric Rigler of Titanic and Braveheart fame. The Young Dubliners even revved up the crowd at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, Rob CannilloBodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Since its inception in 2001, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes (JSDN) has gained a loyal following in a competitive New Orleans music scene. Their unique FUNK/ROCK style blends guitar, violin and harmonica with a hard driving rhythm section reminiscent of the Radiators' swamp funk added to the punchy horns of Tower Of Power.
In essence, JSDN is a classically trained tight unit. All of the members studied music in college, but a night with JSDN is very different than a night at the symphony. They combine the manic energy of 1980s Fishbone with Deep South soul. It is this energy that fuels the crowd into an enthusiastic frenzy, and the band has been known to jump into that frenzy head first (sometimes literally).
It did not take long for these young musicians to land slots in most of New Orleans' prominent live music clubs such as The Maple Leaf, Tipitina's, The Howlin' Wolf, The Mermaid, and The House of Blues Parish. On the strength of those performances, JSDN was added to the rosters of many notable festivals and special events.
JSDN's debut album, Bandicoot was voted by Offbeat Magazine as 2003 Best Rock Album by a Louisiana Artist. This award was a flattering follow up to winning the 2002 Best of the Beat Award for Best Emerging Roots Rock Band. JSDN was also voted Best Rock Band in 2003 for The Big Easy Entertainment Awards. which they were nominated for again in 2004. Winner of Best of the Beat 2004 emerging Funk/R&B/Soul aritist.

Alasdair Fraser, long regarded as Scotland's premier fiddle ambassador, and the sizzlingly-talented young California cellist Natalie Haas play Scottish music of unrivalled beauty, eloquence and passion. Fraser has a career spanning 30 years, with a long list of awards, accolades, and feature performances on top movie soundtracks (Last of the Mohicans, Titanic). Natalie, a graduate of Juilliard, wasn't even born when Alasdair was winning national fiddle competitions. But, this seemingly unlikely pairing is the fulfillment of a long-standing musical dream for Fraser: to find a cellist who could help him return the cello to its historical role at the rhythmic heart of Scottish dance music. " ...you would think they'd been playing together for centuries. While his fiddle dances, her cello throbs darkly or plucks puckishly. Then [Haas] opens her cello's throat, joining Fraser in soaring sustains, windswept refrains, and sudden, jazzy explosions." -Boston Globe
