Musing about the band's sound, band member Keith Roberts sums up the Young Dubliners' approach to their music, be it Celtic, rowdy pub tunes, Irish-flavored anthemic rock ...or just plain rock: "I like to think that our take on songwriting & performance makes the Young Dubliners' sound unique and original. Our band is made up of Irish and American natives who draw influences from just about everywhere. Our strength is in the sum of our parts." The Young Dubliners, who have become notorious for the whirling "jig pits" that erupt at their shows, have headlined tours in the US and Europe, as well as opening for acts such as Jethro Tull, John Hiatt and Robert Cray. They've also been joined in the studio by musicians like Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull, and Eric Rigler of Titanic and Braveheart fame. The Young Dubliners even revved up the crowd at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman, John Hammond, Levon Helm) and Chris Vitarello have just returned from Europe with The Bruce Katz Band, where they played festival dates with Mick Fleetwood and Ray Davies. Drummer Randy Ciarlante (The Band, Jim Weider's Honky Tonk Gurus) just returned from headlining the Peach Jam Music Festival, and sax player, Jay "King" Collins (James Hunter) has been on the road with his father-in-law, Levon Helm, playing the Newport Folk Festival and dates with Phil Lesh. These guys always have a rollicking good time at their favorite venue, and this month will be no exception. Come early for dinner and stay late dancing on the spacious dance floor. Full bar.
