Frances Kramer
Singer-Songwriter
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
This is what happens when a talented singer/songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist taps into the deep roots of American music with a pop sensibility to create original music that is as entertaining as it is sincere and heartfelt.

Raised on classical, pop, folk, and rock music in historic Wethersfield, Connecticut (one of the hippest places to be in the 1600’s), Frances Kramer was trained on piano and oboe and self-taught on guitar, banjo, and voice. After making an escape from Bryn Mawr College, she found herself singing country and folk tunes and playing the banjo for a meager living followed by singing and playing guitar in rock bands for no living. While living in a converted school bus camper in the northeast corner of the state, she began to compose poetry and to write songs and instrumental music.

Paul Phillip Vinton II, 23, of St. Nicholas Terrace, New York, N.Y., and formerly of Tomko Avenue, Hanover Township, died suddenly last Spring at his home. He was born in Kingston on May 19, 1983, the beloved son of Paul P. and Jodie Rutkoski Vinton of Hanover Township. Paul was a 2001 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School. He graduated from Berkley College of Music, Boston, Mass., in 2003, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2004, he was awarded the Guitar Scholarship at Julliard in New York City, N.Y., where he completed his education in 2006. He was self-employed as a musician and guitar teacher. Paul started playing the guitar at the young age of 14 and within one year he mastered the most difficult compositions known to guitarists. In 2005, he was a semifinalist in the World Wide Theolonious Monk Guitar Competition, which was a gathering of the top 10 most talented jazz guitarists in the world. He was also a successful jazz guitarist and composer who performed with such greats as Wyton Marsalis, Benny Golson and George Benson. Paul loved music and had a special gift. He played and composed hip-hop music for the popular band "Lifted," of which he was a member. He had many students in the New York, Connecticut and Wilkes- Barre area.

Governor's Tavern
26 East High Street
East Hampton, 06424, CT   See Map
It's an out-of-state date for us. We hear they serve one serious subpoeña colada.

We're expanding The Rhodes' colonies and bringing our brand of Retro-Rock-n-Roll to the Constitution State. So stop by Governor's Tavern for good food and fun times. It's a Traditional Irish Tavern that used to be called Onnel’s Tap Room, but it has been under new ownership since January. They’re located near Lake Pocotopaug, right next to the Town Hall. [Politicians are welcome to stop in; we'll show you how to do the Shake Down with us!]

Stay tuned for late breaking news updates.

CHRISTINE LAVIN
Comedic, Folk/Traditional
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
Christine Lavin's songs are the sound tracks of American life, nailing a goodly number of the realities and reversals that jam up our daily lives. With her liquid-silver voice and comic genius, Christine threads her wonderfully skewed songs into a smart and witty theatre-concert. She covers a great deal of territory: relationships (I Was In Love With A Difficult Man); life on the road (Strangers Talk To Me); social posturing (Trade-UP); pop culture (Tom Cruise Scares Me!) and MORE. She recently was the featured guest in the new off-Broadway hit Don't Quit Your Night Job, a funky mix of comedy improv and song featuring a core cast who host B'way guest stars. Christine is the creator and host of XM Satellite Radio's Slipped Discs featuring established as well as upcoming singer/songwriters from across the country who slip her their latest albums at her concerts. From her pre-show knitting circle to the final baton twirl, it's a concert with a full service entertainer!
