This original "band without instruments" has been skewering the classics, breaking all the rules and clear-cutting their own unique path in the world of vocal music for 25 years, playing everywhere from Lincoln Center to Berlin's Passionkirche. To quote a recent review, "...the Bobs still shine, breaking new ground each time they tunnel out of the sanitorium. The twin keys to the group's creative safe deposit box are unflagging dedication to vocal excellence and utter disregard for everything else." "With their vocal mastery... and an irreverent sense of humor, The Bobs have risen to the pinnacle of a cappella music." - Dirty Linen

with THE CLANCY TRADITION
Irish (traditional), Acoustic
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
The Clancy Tradition's origins are found in Ireland in the 1950s when the Clancy family of Moy, County Tyrone, formed a Ceili Band, playing at Irish Country dances and concerts throughout Ireland. In 1960, brothers Pat, Eugene and Brendan Clancy left to tour the United States as the Irish Ramblers, playing at clubs like Gerde's Folk City & Carnegie Hall(!), and recording The Patriot Game for Electra. The musical tradition is currently being passed to the next generation with The Clancy Tradition: Eugene on guitar & vocals, daughter Rosemary Clancy on fiddle & mandolin, son John Clancy on bass, Pat on piano & accordion, daughter Liadain Clancy singing and Mike Melanophy on button accordion. We are honored that they chose the Towne Crier Cafe's stage to perform & record their live album.
