Local artists develop their craft of songwriting in a new forum on TV in the Tri-State Area NY,PA, NJ.
Access 23 TV in Port Jervis NY has long been a showcase for local musical talent, and now they have a place to develop their skills. Beginning April 24th - The Songwriters Workshop will be broadcast on ACCESS 23 TV throughout the Tri-State Area, and will be hosted by Elliott Kayne and Celeste Aldridge. Two episodes of the show will be taped the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each week, from 7-9pm. The shows will be aired every Wed night from 7-8pm on ACCESS 23 TV.The mission of the Songwriters Workshop is to extend and support the art of Songwriting within the tri-state area.
The format of Songwriters Workshop TV show will be "EDUTAINMENT" both an Educational as well as Entertainment program. It will feature a forum of fellow songwriters who will participate in open discussions on related topics such as song structure, copyright law, music publishing, the music business, demos, production and writing techniques. Future plans are to have special guest artists, and speakers from BMI and ASCAP. We invite local songwriters to perform their material, and offer critiques and comments, from peers and audience members. We hope to extend the medium, by receiving live critiques from Facebook and Twitter followers of the program.
The Songwriters workshop was originally began by Elliott Kayne and Peter Prieto in early 2011 with the idea of providing a forum for local area songwriters to meet, critique one another and develop the craft of Songwriting in the area. It was originally sponsored by the Pike County Historical Society who loaned their facilities, and support. Songwriters from the workshop have appeared on Carl Richard's and Mr. Phil's TV Shows, on Access 23 TV in Port Jervis NY.This is a fantastic opportunity for both amateur and professional area Songwriters to have your songs heard on TV, learn the craft, network, and receive valuable positive feedback from peers. DVD's of each show will be available for a small donation to the station.
