Laurie Sakhnovskiy
Laurie Sakhnovskiy obtained her bachelors and masters degree in Trumpet from the Aaron Copland School of Music, studying from brass greats such as Joe Burgstaller and David Jolley. During her eleven years in NYC, she performed in orchestras around the tri-state area as well as performing as a soloist with various ensembles. In addition, Laurie subbed on Broadway and was the studio recording musician for the NBC show “30 Rock”, the Netflix show “Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt”, and for several other film scores. Since moving upstate, Laurie has started her own teaching studio, and it also on the teaching faculty at SUNY New Paltz. While Laurie specializes in solo trumpet and chamber music, she has also played piano since she was seven years old, and loves to incorporate that knowledge into her teaching.
