JB's House of Music Summer is the time to rock and our rock band workshops are the perfect way for young musicians to get started playing in bands.
ABOUT US
Over the past 10 years we have been providing young musicians with the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of playing in rock bands.
Through the years we have had the opportunity to work with many up-and-coming musicians who were ready to take their playing to the next level. We believe in giving them the encouragement and support to help them grow as musicians, explore and expand their abilities while learning how to play with other musicians as a team in creating the best band possible.
Our workshops are designed to give students the full experience of all that goes into putting a band together. From choosing the songs they want to play to creating a name for the band, developing the songs into fine-tuned finished versions to performing their concert at the end of the week to a live audience. Our experienced band director will guide them all the way through the process, helping them with everything from getting the most our of their instrument, developing new skills, trying out new methods of playing, guiding the communication between the band members, teaching them about the amps and how to create sounds, etc., and how to create and deliver a concert in which they are the stars.
By the end of the workshop, students will have a new level of confidence in the playing that will help them as they go on to play with other musicians throughout their lives. The sense of pride on their accomplishment is priceless and will stay with them forever!
The workshops take place at Boughton Place in Highland, NY. The space is perfect for our needs, having a two-level raised stage, full lighting rig, large performance area, outdoor area for breaks in a private, secluded location. (See more about BP at boughtonplace.org)
