Downstate Dirt Cheap Demos
There are some truly exceptional, high end recording studios here at home in the Hudson Valley. I can recommend some. However you may not have the budget, or be prepared to enough to make the time spent there worth it yet. The other option is recording yourself. But with the cost of equipment and time to learn how to use it, you might as well bite the bullet and actually go all out on a high end studio.

Not everyone has those options.
I started Downstate Dirt Cheap Demos with one goal in mind.

Access.

Whether you want…

a solid mixed track by track recording to show potential venues or even post to social media and streaming.

To record a cool drum cover.

A fun recorded full band, live off the floor session to hash out some new ideas, listen back, and make sure your writing is heading in the right direction

Or even just tempo mapping and scratch track WAV. Files that you can bring to the high end studios. Do this to start tracking drums in the studio asap and save yourself time and money.

Focus on writing and performing rather than saving up money. I’m here to promise solid quality demos for your personal listening. That being said, when mixing a project, I always aim for something you can be proud to share to the world.

While DDCD is just a humble home studio for now, it is a bright and clean, relaxed atmosphere to record in, capable of tracking a full 5 piece band all at once, with plenty of mics and mic inputs. Rates are super low and negotiable depending on project need. Equipment trades are also considered for tracking time and mixing. Compensation is secondary. The main goal is giving recording access to a music community that has given me so much, in a place I am so proud to call home.
