Guitar (or keys) + vocals needed.
These gigs are mostly classic rock, with some more folky and country stuff thrown in. Beatles, Eagles, B. Joel, The Band, Stones, JT, CCR, the occasional oldie, etc.
Duo, both of us have to sing, and you have to be able to sing some lead. It's a very casual outdoor setting, and the gigs can be fun. Pay is decent.
I'm looking for a pro, and please take this into account:
- You need to be comfortable on your instrument, and know fundamentals, like transposition (I don't sing many songs in their original keys, so this happens all the time). Just as an example: if I call something like Brown Eyed Girl (guitar intro lick), but do it in a different key than the original, you need to be able to transpose the intro to my key, without taking ten minutes to figure it out. If I call a tune and say it's a 1-6-2-5 progression, you need to know what that means. (Sorry to be so blunt about this stuff, but I'm laying my cards on the table. Honesty is the best policy.)
- You need to be able to sing (lead) on perhaps 10-15 songs in the genres above. Standard stuff.
- You'll take a lot of solos - you need to be comfortable with that.
- Reliable, good gear, prompt, professional in attitude.
Lastly, this: I posted this ad a few months ago, and received some replies. Then my plate began to overflow and life became very hectic. If you responded back then, please send me another email now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate your time.
