Volunteer Sound Engineer – Praise & Worship Band We are a 6-piece contemporary praise and worship band ("His Glory") looking for someone who enjoys creating great live sound and wants to use their technical gifts to support worship.
Responsibilities
Operate a Yamaha EMX5014C 14-channel powered mixer
Mix front-of-house (FOH) sound for:
Vocals
Keyboard
Electronic drums
Bass
Electric and acoustic guitars
Flutist
*Create and manage individual floor monitor mixes for band members
*Perform basic sound checks and make adjustments during rehearsals and services
*Assist with setup, sound balancing, and troubleshooting as needed
Schedule
Weekly band rehearsal: Friday evenings Walden, NY
Live worship services and special events: TBD
We're Looking For Someone Who:
*Has previous experience mixing live sound for bands, churches, or live events
*Understands gain structure, EQ, monitor mixes, and feedback control
*Can work well with musicians in a positive, encouraging environment
*Is dependable, punctual, and willing to learn our existing sound system
*Has a servant's heart and enjoys supporting worship through excellent audio
Equipment
Our primary mixer is a Yamaha EMX5014C powered mixer with a standard front-of-house speaker and monitor system. Familiarity with Yamaha mixers is helpful but not required if you have solid live sound experience.
This is a volunteer ministry position. While unpaid, it offers an opportunity to serve alongside a dedicated and talented Praise and Worship Band and use your technical skills to help lead others in worship.
