American Percussion's Shaker Drums
Shaker Drums

Shaker- Drums are shakers with a wood head on one side and a synthetic head on the other side. As you rotate the shaker to different positions you will get different sounds. They also come with plastic and synthetic heads as well as dual plastic heads. The price varies according to the shaker that you pick.

These are " Shaker Drums" Shaker drums come on many different sizes 3" x 3" , 3" x1.5", 4" x 3" and 3" x 8" as an example. The shaker - drum can have a variety of different heads. There are some with a wood head on one side and a plastic skin on the other, some have a plastic skin head with a solid plastic head, some may have both sides solid plastic and some may have both side wood. The price varies according to which type you choose. The beads inside the shaker- drum resonate on the bottom head and hit the top head intermittently according to the rhythm that you are playing. If you rotate the shaker-drum the beads inside will make a different sound because they may be hitting the sides of the shaker more than the top or bottom heads. These different sounds can be achieved while playing the instrument as it is in motion as opposed to pre - setting the shaker - drum in the sound position that you want.
