| Sixty years ago this autumn, Pete Seeger and a group of determined neighbors and activists came together to found Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and began playing concerts to raise money to build a sloop to “save the river.” The concerts inspired a movement to restore the Hudson River, and three years after the first concert, Clearwater set sail for the first time.
For six decades, Clearwater has championed a swimmable, drinkable, fishable Hudson River by bringing people together through education, advocacy, sailing, and music. While the Hudson is healthier in many ways, our work is far from over as legacy pollution, emerging threats like climate change, and rollbacks of federal regulations pose significant threats to our river. Join Clearwater in celebrating this milestone at Clearwater’s 60th Anniversary Benefit Concert on Saturday, November 21 at 3:00 pm at the Beczak Environmental Education Center in Yonkers, and support the next 60 years of our work to protect

Sunday 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm | Marc Von Em in Concert Singer-Songwriter | BeanRunner Cafe 201 S. Division Street @ Esther Peekskill, NY See Map |
Marc Von Em is a one-man band of sorts, able to create an impressive array of music with just his voice and one faithful guitar. His chops are wide-ranging from delicate finger picking to raw, rambunctious strumming. Marc's guitar serves as more than one instrument as he uses it to create percussive beats and atmospheric sounds. His dynamic voice can go from smooth & soaring to smoky scatting. Marc's harmonica playing is equally impressive, and he sometimes uses it to accompany his blues influenced original songs. His soulful live performances showcase his original music, influenced by folk, funk and blues, with a few choice cover songs woven in.
As one reviewer wrote: "If you haven't seen Marc Von Em perform live you're only cheating yourself." Donations to the musician are greatly appreciated. Call for reservations, 914-737-1701.
