 Southern rock legends Molly Hatchet bring their hard-hitting sound to Paramount Hudson Valley on October 23. Emerging from Jacksonville, Florida in the late seventies alongside iconic Southern rock bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet carved out a sound all their own — a powerful mix of English invasion rock, blues, country, and gospel.
The band exploded onto the scene with their 1978 self-titled debut album, which reached multi-platinum status and established their reputation for working hard, playing tough, and living fast. Their 1979 follow-up, Flirtin’ with Disaster, also achieved multi-platinum status and helped launch the band into the stratosphere, with Molly Hatchet performing hundreds of shows a year and sharing the road with Aerosmith, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones, and many others
More than forty years later, Molly Hatchet continues to keep the music alive with worldwide touring and classic hits.

Saxophonist Pete Anderson presents the life and music of George Gershwin with an entertaining narrative, and live performance. Joining him is famed guitarist Matt Munisteri and trumpeter Joe Boga. One of the most striking geniuses of modern music, George Gershwin composed for Tin Pan Alley, Broadway, film, radio, and symphony orchestras, combining the sounds of jazz and European classical music. Selections will include "Rhapsody in Blue," "I Got Rhythm," "It Ain’t Necessarily So," "Summertime," "They Can’t Take That Away From Me," Fascinating Rhythm," "Love is Here to Stay," "But Not for Me," "Oh, Lady be Good," "Embraceable You," and "S’Wonderful."
Pete Anderson has headlined at The Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Feinstein’s 54 Below, live on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion, and can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

A special performance by Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective on its US tour, making its Hudson, NY debut presented by Clarion Concerts in partnership with Hudson Hall at the historic Hudson Opera House -- New York State's oldest surviving theater.
Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective is known for imaginative programs that highlight celebrated chamber works alongside music by less frequently heard composers. Curated especially for the ensemble’s Hudson debut with Clarion Concerts, this program features two of Robert Schumann’s most beloved works: the lyrical Adagio and Allegro for Horn and Piano and the exuberant Piano Quintet in E-flat major.
Between these two pieces, Ethel Smyth’s richly textured Trio for Violin, Horn and Piano and Eleanor Alberga’s dream-inspired Shining Gate of Morpheus bring distinctive voices and cultures to this program spanning the Romantic tradition to present day.

We conclude with two works by American composers: the improvisatory Voodoo Dolls by Jessie Montgomery, and David Balakrishnan’s Skylife, a head-banging rock-anthem inspired piece for string orchestra. The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.
