| GRAMMY Award-nominated saxophonist Ben Wendel is a leading voice in modern jazz who is known for his work as a performer, composer and producer. A founding member of the GRAMMY-nominated ensemble Kneebody, he has collaborated with artists including Tigran Hamasyan, Bill Frisell, Terence Blanchard and Snoop Dogg. Wendel’s honors include the ASCAP Jazz Composer Award, multiple New Jazz Works grants from Chamber Music America (2008, 2011, 2017) and the Victor Lynch-Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts. His acclaimed project The Seasons was named one of the Best Albums of 2015 by The New York Times. Broadway’s Rock of Ages Band returns to Paramount Hudson Valley on September 25, bringing the ultimate ’80s rock party back to Peekskill for one electrifying night. The 35-member Summer Ensemble, a subset of the full Putnam Chorale, will present An American Tapestry, an 8 concert series across Putnam and Dutchess Counties this summer and fall, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Blending music and history, An American Tapestry traces the evolving story of America through song—from the Colonial era to the present day.
