Jackie Morris
Singer-Songwriter, Americana
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
Since releasing her first of five albums in 2005, Jackie Morris has earned a reputation for engaging “story songs” that combine traditional Folk and Americana styles with contemporary themes.  She is best known for her insinuating melodies and her way with words – lyrics laced with humor and irony, sometimes poignant, occasionally political, and often thought-provoking – as well as an uncommon vibrato whistle.   A NYC native now living on the Central California Coast, Jackie writes in an irrepressible variety of styles, ranging from Americana and Folk Rock to Ballads and Bluegrass ... from a little Country Western to a generous portion of Blues.  All demonstrate the warmth, wit and refreshing vitality that put her music among Top Albums of the Year on Folk and Americana Radio Airplay charts. Most recently, Jackie released a new single, THE VOTE SONG -- a motivating rally song with an energizing reggae beat.

The Scott & Gary Show! will be screened at The Orpheum Theater in Saugerties on May 11 at 7pm as part of their Upstate Films series. More here: https://www.upstatefilms.org/the-scott-and-gary-show.

A NYC based public-access cable TV variety show that aired from 1983 to 1989. Paying a 1980’s homage to 1960’s TV dance parties, the show was a mix of alternative, punk, roots, and indie bands performing live (no lip synching!) along with a live audience and comedy skits. We also self-syndicated the show across the country. Among the musical guests were the Butthole Surfers (1984) Beastie Boys (1983!) Ben Vaughn, The Raunch Hands, Half Japanese, Shockabilly, R. Stevie Moore, Velvet Monkeys with Don Fleming, etc.

Pete Rodriguez Band
Jazz, Latin
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Featured on three Grammy-winning records, Pete Rodríguez is a triple-threat virtuoso trumpeter, vocalist, and percussionist. He has played with musical legends Tito Puente, Branford Marsalis, and Eddie Palmieri, to name a few, and brings a powerful cultural legacy as the son of legendary salsa singer Pete "El Conde" Rodríguez and the godson of Fania Records co-founder and salsa pioneer Johnny Pacheco.

Pete's original compositions push genre boundaries with unapologetic rawness and narrative depth, and his latest record, 'I'm Pete Rodriguez, Volume 1' is a masterclass in heritage-driven innovation, redefining what Afro-Cuban jazz can be.

"He possesses a full rich sound on both trumpet and flugelhorn and his technique is incredible. It is as a composer that his development is even more amazing." - Kenny Barron

"...a profound declaration of his own distinct artistic identity...creating a sound that is both deeply personal and strikingly innovative." - Latin Jazz Network
