Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
Singer-songwriter Doug Mishkin recently released his third album, “Tip of the Spear.” Doug is best known for “Woody’s Children,” his song celebrating Woody’s legacy.
Doug’s music flows from that tradition. The song “Tip of the Spear” is an appeal from God to the human race. The new album includes “If They’d Been Black,” a song about January 6th; “Reading Names (George Floyd); and “Save Your Prayers,” a song about gratitude, empathy and people who lack both.
Tom Paxton: “Doug Mishkin gets what folk music is all about….He is a splendid and engaging performer. You will love him.”
Tom Chapin: “Don’t miss Doug Mishkin. He is a great singer, performer, song-leader, story-teller, musician and a longtime friend with whom I have shared many a stage.”
Christine Lavin: “Doug Mishkin is one of the top singer songwriters working today…. All of his songs have the unmistakable ring of truth that all songwriters strive for….”

He leads the Raphael Silverman Trio and has appeared at renowned venues such as Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, Jazz Forum, Minton’s Playhouse, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has also toured internationally in Europe and Asia.

New Paltz, NY   See Map
Coyote Island is the musical vision of Maine-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mike O’Hehir. Assembling a band of brothers, they have blended folk roots, reggae rhythms, and psychedelic indie, the band crafts music that feels like a sonic escape.

From their breakout release “Here Before” to their latest album, Shadow Magic (2025), they’ve expanded their sound into deeper grooves and vivid storytelling—melding tropical textures, hypnotic beats, and a spirit of reflection. Described as both electric and transportive, Coyote Island’s live shows offer tropical psychedelia and a sonic vacation from the doldrums of existence.
