Kim Clarke performs on the Acoustic Bass, Electric Upright and four and five-stringed Electric Bass Guitar as the situation demands. Her electric bass playing has been described as soulful and rich, and she has been touted internationally as "the only well-know woman bassist in Jazz of her generation."
In 2024, Jay Beckenstein and Spyro Gyra began observing their 50th anniversary, a milestone few bands in any genre achieve. What started in Buffalo, NY as a simple diversion — a group of friends gathering on their night off for a “Tuesday Night – Jazz Jam” that cost twenty-five cents at the door — evolved into one of the most successful jazz fusion groups in the world. Over the course of five decades, Spyro Gyra has released more than 30 albums, earning gold and platinum along the way, while performing over 10,000 concerts on six continents. From those early days of carefree jam sessions to recording career-defining albums like Morning Dance and Catching the Sun, the band’s journey has been marked by both continuity and evolution. Beckenstein’s saxophone remains the unmistakable voice of the group, while changing rhythm sections and new musical influences have kept the sound fresh and current. The Jazzwomen Trio take the stage in Middletown for their 2nd appearance in a month-long "Jazz at the Library" tour of free concerts celebrating Women's History Month and generously funded by our public libraries. Featuring pianist Ellie Lee, bassist Mary Ann McSweeney and drummer Kim Peralta.

The Chain Gang is celebrating 26 years as a band this year. Although they are a general cover band (60s-80s, all genres), over the years they have developed both a Beatles and a Billy Joel Tribute performance. Their Billy Joel Tribute performance has met critical acclaim every time they have done it. It covers the span of Billy’s career that will make you tap your feet throughout the performance. The band prides itself in adhering to the original arrangement for every song. If you close your eyes, you will think you’re at Billy’s concert. It’s not Madison Square Garden, but it’s the next best thing right here at Curry Estate! Come and enjoy dinner and a show with us!
