Raphael Silverman is rapidly emerging as one of the most compelling young guitarists on today's jazz scene. A native New Yorker and a recent graduate of Columbia University, Raphael already performs and tours with some of the most respected names in jazz. He is a member of the bands of two iconic former Art Blakey Jazz Messengers - Philip Harper and Johnny O’Neal -and has shared the stage with Eric Alexander, Rodney Green, Akiko Tsuruga, Peter Washington, Winard Harper, and many others.
He leads the Raphael Silverman Trio and has appeared at renowned venues such as Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, Jazz Forum, Minton’s Playhouse, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has also toured internationally in Europe and Asia. Silverman's music pays deep respect to the lineage of jazz guitar while carving out a fresh, personal voice. $20 adm. Host Kati Mac is a singer songwriter, indie artist, educator, and 7-time daytime Emmy nominee for best song and has 8 albums of original music. Her song "Only Love" was the theme of The Guiding Light and went to no. 1 on the NY, and no. 2 on the national, Roots Rock chart. Brian Conigliaro is a jazz musician, songwriter, voice actor, and educator from Peekskill, New York. He specializes in guitar and harmonica and has recorded 5 studio albums. Suzahn Fiering is a guitarist/vocalist/composer and award-winning artist, educator, international touring artist. Suzahn is a Warner-Chapel songwriter was dubbed a, "Jazz Bard", by Lynn Samuels, Sirius Radio. Paul Guzzone, Baon brother’s bassist and vocalist, has released three albums and several singles of original music. Veteran musician, teacher and songwriter Paul Kaplan has been an enthusiastic participant in the folk music world since the late 1960s. Since then, his original songs have been covered by such folk music greats as Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, Sally Rogers, Nickelodeon stars Sharon, Lois and Bram (“The Elephant Show”), Claudia Schmidt, Lui Collins, David Massengill, Priscilla Herdman, Len Chandler and countless others.
Paul has been honored by the inclusion of his songs in two monumental collections produced by Smithsonian Folkways: the Grammy-nominated Best of Broadside and Fast Folk—a Community of Singers & Songwriters. As a member of the Hudson River Sloop Singers in the 1990s Paul got to know both Jon Stein and Pete Seeger. Jon recorded a beautiful version of Paul’s song “We Shall Stay Here” for Fast Folk. Pete had this to say about Paul: “I’m a big fan of Paul Kaplan. I love his singing; I love his songs.” | ||

The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

| BridgeMusik Chamber Hour continues at the Valley Cottage Library with In the Quiet of Winter, an intimate one-hour cello recital featuring cellist Annamaria Witek, joined by pianist Henry Sungho Yang and BridgeMusik artists Tanya Witek (flute) and Krystof Witek (violin).
This reflective winter program explores the expressive voice of the cello across centuries. Music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonín Dvořák, Gabriel Fauré, and Krzysztof Penderecki invites listeners into a deeply human and contemplative sound world, well suited to the quiet beauty of winter. Carlos Jimenez, is an extraordinary flute player and vocalist as well as composer and band leader of Jazz, Latin jazz and Salsa. His family moved to Villalba, Puerto Rico when he was 6 years old and it was there that his musical training began. Inspired by Mongo Santamaria, he pursued becoming a jazz flutist. He studied classical flute at the Music Conservatory of Westchester under Dave Fenucane and expanded into jazz, studying with master musicians Mario Rivera; Dave Valentin; Bobby Porcelli; Mitch Frohman; Vinnie Rickitelli; Rolando Briseno and Enrique Fernandez. He also studied harmony/voice with master pianist, Mike Longo, Alfredo Valdes Jr. and Hilton Ruiz.
Cárlos has recorded and performed with Hilton Ruiz, Hector Martignon, Edy Martinez, Barry Harris, Earl May, LeRoy Williams, Oscar Hernandez, Stephane Rongetz, Sonny Bravo, and Dave Valentin. $20 adm. Call for reservations, 914-737-1701. In case of bad weather, the show will be inside | ||
