Combining both traditional and contemporary repertoire, the Katie Linnane and Ivan Goff Duo merges fiddle and uilleann pipes to create a dynamic sound rooted in the age-old Irish music tradition.
Katie Linnane is a fiddle player and former step dancer, born and raised in New York -- a hotbed for traditional Irish music. Katie's music reflects a deep-rooted connection to the tradition, shaped by her early studies learning from the legendary Willie Kelly and a childhood steeped in Irish music at home. Ivan Goff is from Dublin, Ireland and plays uilleann pipes (Irish bellows-blown pipes) and Irish wooden flute. He is a member of the celebrated Irish traditional band, Danú and performs with the Irish Music Masters with John Doyle and Seamus Egan. The Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra opens its 25-26 season with music by Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, and Mozart! Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor André Raphel leads the orchestra in this charming and exuberant program. The concert will begin with Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte Overture. The orchestra is delighted to be joined by acclaimed violinist Arnaud Sussmann, performing Mozart’s brilliant Violin Concerto No. 5. Experience the lush and majestic folk melody Five Variants of ‘Dives and Lazarus’ for string orchestra and harp by Vaughan Williams. Beethoven’s 4th Symphony, full of lyricism and liveliness, concludes the opening concert. Reduced ticket prices are available for seniors and students, and children under five are welcome free of charge. All are invited to attend the uplifting opening of the HVSO’s 25-26 season!

Matt Garrison's newest project band, "The Hudson Calls," showcases a unique dedication and tribute to various river towns and features of the Hudson Valley. Saxophonist Matt Garrison fervently pursues the art-form of jazz with confidence, lyricism, and a tonality suffused in warmth. Lisa Gutkin (violin, tenor guitar and voice) weaves her sounds together with bassist extraordinaire Gilad Ephrat, guitarist Oren Neiman, and special guests from the extended table that they've been sharing since Gilad arrived in the US this summer.
Lisa is a renowned musical storyteller, Grammy Award-winning member of The Klezmatics, co-creator of the Tony Award-winning play Indecent, and co-founder of the Downtown Celtic band Whirligig. Gilad Ephrat is an internationally acclaimed bassist and composer, celebrated for blending classical, jazz, and global folk music. Gilad is a multiple award-winner in the prestigious John Lennon International Songwriting Contest and has performed for royalty at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.
