 The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.
Music performed at this session is a mixture of: jazz standards, jazz repertoire, american songbook, bossa nova, and afro cuban. Sorry, we do not host original material at this session.

As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”

 Drawing from a pool of the best musicians in the area, the Gypsy Jazz Collective presents music in the style of and inspired by the genre created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, a musical tradition that is still very alive today. Their repertoire ranges from hot classics of the 1930s and 1940s, all the way up to modern compositions of the 2020s. The Collective is a venue for musicians to present original music in addition to old favorites.
Original compositions by Michael Snow, Luke Hendon, and Sean Crimmins will be featured along with a varied selection of gypsy jazz favorites, old and new.

 Called "one of New England's best songwriters" by The Boston Globe, Terry Kitchen has been performing on folk stages across the country since the 1990s, releasing a dozen albums filled with literate musical storytelling, supple guitar playing and distinctive, intimate vocals. His latest album We All Dream (with its title song reaching the top ten of the national Folk-DJ chart) offers a hard-won glimmer of hope just when we need it most. His songs have won the Mid-Atlantic and USA Song Contests and been runner-up in the John Lennon Song Contest, and have appeared in numerous films. In the 1980s he was the leader of the groundbreaking Boston band Loose Ties, whose experiences he recounts in his novel Next Big Thing, called "a great debut novel" by The San Francisco Book Review.
