Together, we’ll be singing “F**k You” by Lily Allen, in a bold cheeky four-part arrangement.

Advance registration is encouraged. Registrants receive PDF sheet music and MP3 learning tracks in advance. Just bring your voice and your full self, and we’ll go over your part together.

Mark Donato grew up musically in Southwestern PA, New York City, and Upstate New York. He writes eccentric and poetic rock songs and earthy, experimental pop.

He's worked as a drummer and singer with John Linnell of They Might Be Giants, Amy Allison, Flat Old Word, Rosine, and the Oswalds (songwriting vehicle for author Camden Joy), while piling up songs for his own releases.His new record -- released in June 2025 -- is called Community Theater in honor of locals forever entertaining other locals. He has 7 full-length records in all and many more songs ready to be dressed and served.

It features three of our Grand Scholarship recipients, Ryan Soeyadi, pianist and Esther Chae, cellist, Shavon Lloyd, Baritone, plus three consummate professionals: Charles Mokotoff, classical guitarist, E’lissa Jones, violinist, singer/songwriter, and John Cimino, baritone.

The event is catered by Allan’s Falafel of Chester NY. Doors will open at 1:30 and we’ll feed you (come hungry) until 2:30 when the concert will begin with Charles Mokotoff, then Ryan Soeyadi, Esther Chae, and Shavon Lloyd. At 3:30 we’ll take a 30 minute intermission. You can revisit the food area. At 4PM we’ll continue the concert with John Cimino, possibly a special surprise guest, followed by E’lissa Jones who will close out the show.

The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past nine years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

Music performed at this session is a mixture of: jazz standards, jazz repertoire, american songbook, bossa nova, and afro cuban. Sorry, we do not host original material at this session.
