Leonardo Suarez-Paz, a multiple Latin Grammy Award nominee and “virtuoso extraordinaire” (Wynton Marsalis), shares his vision of tango by breathing new life into the stories he experienced while growing up alongside his mentor, Astor Piazzolla, the Argentine-born and New York-raised composer who revolutionized 21st-century music. A 4th generation tango musician, singer, dancer and composer, Leonardo demonstrates the genre as an evolving and emotionally moving art form. The PIAZZOLLA100 show invites you to experience nuevo tango through personal stories of its creators, groundbreaking new style of music and dance, “superb,” “harmonically sophisticated arrangements” (Gramophone, UK) and multimedia.
