Peekskill, NY   See Map
Leonardo Suarez Paz’s PIAZZOLLA 100: El Nuevo Tango is a multidisciplinary & genre-redefining – a tango show for the new century.
Leonardo Suarez-Paz, a multiple Latin Grammy Award nominee and “virtuoso extraordinaire” (Wynton Marsalis), shares his vision of tango by breathing new life into the stories he experienced while growing up alongside his mentor, Astor Piazzolla, the Argentine-born and New York-raised composer who revolutionized 21st-century music. A 4th generation tango musician, singer, dancer and composer, Leonardo demonstrates the genre as an evolving and emotionally moving art form. The PIAZZOLLA100 show invites you to experience nuevo tango through personal stories of its creators, groundbreaking new style of music and dance, “superb,” “harmonically sophisticated arrangements” (Gramophone, UK) and multimedia. The cast features Grammy-winning soloists with Nuevo Tango Ensemble and Nuevo Tango Ballet and has sold out the 2600-seat Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires.

Paul Magliari and Tim "Phineas" Feeney in Concert
Acoustic
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Paul JM, a local musician, songwriter, visual artist and sometimes playwright, has been residing in Peekskill for almost 15 years. Mostly drumming for bands such as Vinyl Siding, The Trike, Bear Mountain Sound Machine and bass work for Jazmo, he also performs his own works with guitar and voice. As founder of FUTURE ONE, he has released 2 full-length albums (Lost Mighway, Do We Need Another Psycho).

Paul's lyrics deliver abstract views on human issues inviting the listener to take their own journey. Everything seems so questionable these days and answers that at one time seemed to be easier are getting more blurred along the way. Human existence shouldn't be as complex as we make it out to be.

Tim Feeney (Phineas and the Lonely Leaves) emerges for a rare acoustic solo set. One guitar. One voice. Songs stripped to their bones. No set list. No promises. Just a peformance you won’t forget.

Donations to the musicians are greatly appreciated.
