Long, PhD of Art & Music Emporium, Inc. for the lecture “How Music Serves a Purpose in Film.” This presentation will focus on how music serves the art of film through story, plot, script, acting, cinematography, editing, sound effects, and soundtracks. Though there will not be enough time to watch a whole movie during the course, selections from films such as Blue Brothers, The Shining, Grease, 1941, Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, West Side Story, Wizard of Oz, Polar Express, and so on will be used to discuss main points. Music by Danny Elfman, John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, Alan Silvestri, and Hans Zimmer will be of the many film composers discussed. Link for registration | ||
