Monday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Bruce L Moon Singer-Songwriter, Americana | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Bruce L. Moon is a singer-songwriter, active painter, and performance artist. He has 29 LPs available on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and other streaming platforms, and performs regularly at small concert venues and colleges. He believes that good music ought to comfort people who’ve been afflicted in the world and afflict those who are too comfortable.
Bruce holds a PhD in Art Therapy, and he worked for 22 at a small private psychiatric hospital, and another 20 years as a university professor and graduate program director. His clinical specialty was working with children and adolescents who’d been emotionally and/or sexually abused. His experiences as an art therapist and educator inevitably make their way into his music. Bruce’s songs often deal with loss and regret and yet there are frequently undercurrents of humor, compassion, and social commentary. As a recent concertgoer said, "Bruce's songs and stories make me laugh, let me cry, and push me to think about my life."

![]() Saturday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm | Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge with A Stick & A Box; Studio Stu & Brian Melick Jazz, Alternative, and Contemporary. Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge | Kingston Farmers Market John Street & Crown Street Kingston, NY See Map |
A Stick & A Box is the most basic form of jazz, interpretation, drum and bass/voice duo, a sort of, ‘Duja Vey’ (the feeling that none of this ever happened before).
This eccentric jazz duo takes the very best in classic jazz and pop, and twists and bends them into what they call ‘evocative jazz, exotic lounge’. In this ‘duo virtuosi’, nothing is sacred.....improv is rampant...lyrics are changed at will...notes and chords are bent and perverted...familiar languages are obliterated....harmonies are sweet and sour perfection, and yet, serious, sophisticated and uncompromising in execution. The is one in-tune, out-of-tune, offbeat outfit. Explore
