Monday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Bruce L Moon Singer-Songwriter, Americana | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Bruce L. Moon is a singer-songwriter, active painter, and performance artist. He has 29 LPs available on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and other streaming platforms, and performs regularly at small concert venues and colleges. He believes that good music ought to comfort people who’ve been afflicted in the world and afflict those who are too comfortable.
Bruce holds a PhD in Art Therapy, and he worked for 22 at a small private psychiatric hospital, and another 20 years as a university professor and graduate program director. His clinical specialty was working with children and adolescents who’d been emotionally and/or sexually abused. His experiences as an art therapist and educator inevitably make their way into his music. Bruce’s songs often deal with loss and regret and yet there are frequently undercurrents of humor, compassion, and social commentary. As a recent concertgoer said, "Bruce's songs and stories make me laugh, let me cry, and push me to think about my life." | ||
