The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

Music performed at this session is a mixture of: jazz standards, jazz repertoire, american songbook, bossa nova, and afro cuban. Sorry, we do not host original material at this session.

iLan Ban brings you the sounds of the Caribbean with Soca, Reggae and Steelpan.

Trevor ‘Bridges’ Bridgewater (bass) hails from St. Kitts. He has played with bands in St. Kitts and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and has toured the U.S. with reggae bands The One Vibe and Rising Lion, and the now defunct Afro-Caribbean band Afroblue.

Audel Brown (keyboards) is from Nevis where he started playing organ in the church and later on was the keyboard player for one of St.Kitts’ top bands Toucan. He is known as one of the hardest working keyboard players on the music circuit in Brooklyn where he currently resides.

Clifton ‘Chico’ Anthony (steelpan) is from Antigua. He has played with two outstanding steel orchestras, Halcyon and Superfly, in Antigua. He worked in St. Maarten for a number of years as the arranger for Pott Steelers Steelband.

They will be joined by Abena Amory on vocals.

The Warwick Valley Chorale is pleased to announce three upcoming performances of its 84th annual Spring concert. Led by conductor Ron DeFesi and accompanied by Gail Johnson, this season’s presentations will consist of Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, which the group will be singing again at Carnegie Hall in May, and the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Croton-on-Hudson in June, as well.

These concerts will also feature solo performances from the winners of the Stanley Curtis Memorial Scholarship: First prize winner Abigail Yurchuk, a junior at Warwick Valley High School; second prize winner Abigail Straebler, a senior at Port Jervis High School; and third prize winner Taylor Longo, a senior at Valley Central High School.

Nelson Riveros a Jazz guitarist, composer and vocalist. His last recording 'The Latin Side of Wes Montgomery' on ZOHO Music reached #2 in Jazz Week and was the #7 most played CD of the Top 100 on jazz radio in 2021.

He has performed and recorded with Hector Martignon, John Benitez, Samuel Torres, Mark Walker, Luis Bonilla, Cuban violin great Alfredo De La Fe, Craig Handy, Pat Bianchi, Rodney Jones, and members of the Vanguard Orchestra. He is on the music faculty of Bergen Community College and Essex County College.

The Peekskill String Quartet is dedicated to fostering a passion for the beauty of string music, and for promoting creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation in the heart of Peekskill.

Nicolas Duque has played the violin for over 7 years and recently started the PHS Symphony Orchestra. His goal is to introduce everyone to music, as music has guided his life.

Olivia Kravitz has dedicated 7+ years to the study and performance of music. With a primary focus on the violin, she also plays the viola and piano. In her free time, she either competes in the pool or cozies up with a good book.

Max Ferrer is a violist, singer, and actor. He has been playing the viola and singing since 2017, interacting with musicians from the local area to Broadway.

Briannah Faican began her musical journey on the violin but transitioned to the cello, increasing her creative spirit and perspective. In addition to music, she swims and plays flag football.

Celebrating over a quarter century of music making, the three time GRAMMY® nominated group has led both a revolution and evolution of the wind quintet through their dynamic playing, adventurous programming, imaginative collaborations and outreach endeavors that have inspired audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

The ensemble’s playlist embraces traditional chamber music repertoire, and newly commissioned works from voices that reflect historical events and the times in which we currently live.
