Lawrence Anthony, affectionately known as "LA", combines Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass and James Brown, to get his signature style - "old school romance" and fiery funk! A bass/baritone singer, LA has performed with the legendary Intruders as well as on many "Motown Review" assignments. He is currently singing bass, invoking the spirit of Motown, with The Shadows of the 60's Tribute to the Temptations. In 2016 LA became a member of the world renowned "Persuasions", replacing the founding member bass singer, Jimi Hayes, who passed after a prolonged illness. He also founded LA Soul – a very high powered "Funk band", covering funk from the 60's to 70's.
LA also has been heard as a radio personality on his own "Quite Storm" show on 91.1 WOSS in New York and has been seen in commercials and on documentaries for public and commercial television. $20 suggested donation. For reservations, 914-737-1701.

“Magical Fridays” is an informal group of friends in the community who come together most Fridays to learn and sing music—familiar and unfamiliar—arranged by Marji Zintz for 3-part harmony. The songs are uplifting and joyful, and they are excited to share that joy with you.
Originally called “Estamos Listas,” Magical Fridays grew out of a circa ~2008 arts project called “Debajo de mi Sombrero” that was started by Judy Duboff and Pat Quinn with Marji. The goal was to provide an opportunity for migrant farmworkers to “introduce” themselves to the greater community via their art and music, demonstrating the oft-overlooked humanity, lives, and homes of the people who work in our fields and harvest our food. Out of that project grew a weekly musical gathering that is joyful and uplifting. Marji on the Interweb

The folk magazine Sing Out! described Betty and the Baby Boomer as “a refreshing reminder of the halcyon days of American folk music”. In each song they display the sheer joy of singing and playing music.” Along with performing original songs from Jean, the Boomers draw on traditional tunes, music from classic fokies like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Phil Ochs, Americana roots music and contemporary artists such as Greg Brown, Bruce Springsteen, and Dougie MacClean. “Whatever the source, each song is “Boomerized”–set in distinctive arrangements with three and four part harmonies. The singers’ voices differ in range and color; they combine in a unique and resonant blend that is the Boomers’ signature. Their vocals are coupled to impressive instrumental work on guitars, Dobro, bass, bodhran, and kazoo; sometimes they perform an a capella selection. Critics agree their music is comprised of “beautiful melodies–meaningful lyrics–charming wit -all blended with engaging personalities. How to order tickets, plus more information

At 12, she was performing songs by Tanya Tucker and Emmylou Harris at major venues around Texas. In her 20's she honed her chops playing the Salt Lake scene and touring around the west with The Gigi Love Band. Her big break came in 2002. Gigi was invited to perform for the Closing Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. For 52,000 people, Gigi sang 2 original songs, wooed the crowd and soon after was signed onto the Mountain Dew College Circuit tour with sponsorship that lasted 7 years. Yosemite Gold, the first song she wrote about a national park led to a full length album, National Parks Centennial Songs. During 2015-2019 Gigi sang her national parks songs on Amtrak trains and in the parks at ranger programs and amphitheaters around the country. The enduring quality of her message gives her songs relevance at any time, especially now. She is a voice for the earth and preserving public lands.
