Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Music as celebration of the human experience is at the heart of Andrea Wolper's approach to singing. Having started her professional career singing jazz standards, her eclectic tastes and multidisciplinary talents have led her to forge her own path down the byways of improvisatory vocal jazz. A "brilliant musical storyteller," a "superior" songwriter and "terrific arranger," Andrea combines swinging jazz standards and deeply felt ballads, original compositions, and imaginatively arranged songs from a variety of genres, adding up to "an inventive, thrilling, appealing musical vision." A mainstay of the New York jazz scene, she has headlined in top clubs including the Blue Note, Dizzy's Club, Birdland, Mezzrow, the 55 Bar, Zinc Bar, among others. Joining Andrea is pianist Roberta Piket and bassist Ken Filiano.

"There's a light in Wolper's voice that illuminates even the darkest moments."
