	The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past nine years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome. Music performed at this session is a mixture of: jazz standards, jazz repertoire, american songbook, bossa nova, and afro cuban. 	2 nice Jewish girls- one (Beki Brindle) growing up in Indiana and playing lead guitar for Yank Rachell at 18, discovered by Rick Danko and joining Tom Pacheco’s & Eric Anderson’s bands, becoming ‘Ambassador of the Blues’ for Bono’s Rock School in Dublin, joining Warner/Reprise band Grace Pool, touring & playing on MTV, releasing critically acclaimed albums featuring great blues standards and writing her own songs, and meanwhile- in New York City, the other- (Elly Wininger) taking guitar lessons from David Bromberg while in high school, playing opening night at CBGB with her country blues, winning the Hudson Valley Blues Society Solo/Duo Challenge and going on to be a Semifinalist in the 2023 International Blues Competition, garnering awards for her songwriting and releasing critically acclaimed albums on Earwig Music, they both end up living in the Hudson Valley where they discover they are cousins and get inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame on the same night!
