 Joel and Mark are improvisors with an open minded aesthetic which includes all kinds of American Music. Harrison is the founder and director of the Alternative Guitar Summit, a yearly festival devoted to new and unusual guitar music. Pat Metheny has called the Summit “one of the most interesting and distinguished forums for guitar on the planet.  Un Cuarteto Bacano is the result of many years of persistence, dedication, and grit. Bronly Taveras (Fino Tambora) and Marcos Morel (El Clásico Guira) have teamed up to embark on a shared vision and create a new band, bringing a fresh approach to the music they love. Having participated in various projects, both together and individually, Fino and El Clásico are well-versed in the Merengue Típico world. They are now creating opportunities and opening doors for the genre that brought them together. As Bronx natives, the diverse cultural landscape fuels their creativity, leading to innovative collaborations and original music.
Launched at the beginning of 2024, Un Cuarteto Bacano wasted no time in carrying out their vision, performing exclusively in venues where Merengue Típico has never been played before. With a bright future ahead, this is Un Cuarteto Bacano!

 A family-friendly exploration of musical theatre with something for audience members of all ages, whether it be toe-tapping tunes, clever lyrics or charismatic characters. Produced and hosted by New York Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, four of Broadway’s most versatile performers will illuminate the stage with tunes from classic and contemporary musicals based on timeless children’s stories and animated films. It’s a perfect way to introduce younger audience members to the stage and to create and share new memories. Musical selections will include songs from The Little Mermaid; Mary Poppins; Frozen; Wicked; The Lion King; Beauty and the Beast; The Wizard of Oz; The Sound of Music; Tarzan; The Wiz; Annie and more!!!  Remix ⟷ Culture invites you to the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center in Poughkeepsie this Friday 9/20 for a transformative 2-hr live multimedia experience featuring 14 acclaimed NY-based artists – traditional musicians, remix artists, storytellers, and dancers – honoring and re-imagining their African and Indigenous lineages.
Tanfis III brings together a new collective of 7 artists-in-residence with African-American, Colombian, Gambian, Guinean, Peruvian, and Senegalese roots to creatively and communally explore their communities’ existential questions: “Where do we come from? What have we become? Who do we want to be?”
Join us for an entirely new live experience of sacred chants, virtuosic West African drumming, stunning cinematography, honoring of ancestors and teachers, powerful spoken words and life-affirming storytelling, exquisite dance, masterful electronic music, live video remixing, and more.
