Nicole Zuraitis is a 2024 GRAMMY® Award-winning jazz singer-songwriter, pianist, arranger, New York-based bandleader and winner of the prestigious 2021 American Traditions Vocal Competition Gold Medal. All About Jazz recently referred to her as a “poetess and purely expressive artist like no other.”
Composer/pianist Vijay Iyer, one of the leading music makers of his generation, comes to the JazzFest White Plains with his acclaimed trio, featuring Linda May Han Oh (bass) and Tyshawn Sorey (drums). Praised by NPR as “truly astonishing” and by the New York Times as “the great new jazz piano trio” the ensemble makes emotionally resonant music that is rooted in tradition yet steeped in innovation.
Bittersweet Descent is comprised of Mark Grossman (guitar/vocals), Krisana Soponpong (bass), Jamie Altieri (guitar/vocals), and Pat DePellonia (drums). The band's primary focus is crafting and performing original, genre-busting, high-energy material with which any audience can instantly connect. Live shows are also peppered with covers of a variety of alternative and classic rock bands, along with folk, country, and punk covers. The band, with former drummer Jesse Weiss, recorded a six-song EP which is being released, and the title track is now available for streaming on all platforms. Grossman and Soponpong, along with drummer Chris Perna, worked together to record six singles of Grossman's original material, which are all available under his name on all streaming platforms, and which served as the songs that launched Bittersweet Descent's catalogue of original songs.

Joel and Mark are improvisors with an open minded aesthetic which includes all kinds of American Music. Both are composers so expect a mix of originals, jazz tunes, groove- based material, and in general a lot of fine interplay and good fun. The two are joined by illustrious colleagues— Rich Syracuse on bass and Jeff Siegel on drums.

Kathy Johnson plays originals, folk, vintage country & cowboy songs, and more, featuring her clear, warm voice. Her originals range from the comic "Well-Tanned, Hairy-Chested, Bare-Armed Men" to love songs and songs inspired by nature, to her memorable folk anthem, "A Little More Fair, A Little More Free." She has sung at festivals and venues in Ohio, Eastern U.S., and Canada; played multiple times at Nashville’s Bluebird Café; and been on the Ohio Arts Council's Performing Arts on Tour program and Artist Roster of the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center. Her CDs have gotten great reviews and radio airplay.
