WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM

"those who get it will fall helplessly in love...this is a wonderful album." – Gonzookanagan

"Seriously, I couldn’t tell you the last time I listened to an album of just one guy playing by himself all the way through more than twice in a row, and I've been listening to this one on repeat for over a week. One of 2023's most fearless and memorable." –The Rocking Magpie

"spare tales with memorable words in small, short stories that a listener can relate to...angst & tragedy add up to a provocative piece. Most grunge/punk bands can't achieve this with a full band."-Americana Highways

"weird and wonderful"-V13

"elegant and bittersweet"-Medium

"Top 25 albums of 2023"-GonzoOkanagan

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
Beppe Gambetta is a musician and ambassador of art, who, for more than four decades, continues to amaze
us with the uniqueness and originality of his projects born on both sides of the Atlantic. He is an acoustic
guitarist, songwriter, producer, and educator, and his art is fueled, above all, by the curiosity that springs
from encounters, travel, and research. He has brought back forgotten artists, popularized and reinvented folk
guitar techniques, produced unforgettable shows and much original music for which he is loved and
respected on the international scene. Gambetta's 2024 release Terra Madre (Mother Earth) is a musical key
to open a world of tales and dreams related to the motherlands of infinite possible itineraries, and to the cries
of pain and hope that rise from them. The record weaves together the experience and wisdom of a fifty-year
career, and the work is further enriched by the participation of internationally-renowned guests from different
musical genres

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival
2015 Route 9
Garrison, NY, NY   See Map
An ice-cold, high-octane adaptation of Euripides’ play written in battle rap verse, this brand-new hip-hop version of Medea sheds contemporary light on the classic tragedy of family, power, and revenge – as stunning today as it was two thousand years ago. Quintero’s version of the story reignites the sacred rage of our ancestors and illuminates in the most human terms the extraordinary lengths that some people will travel to even the scales of justice.

Jazz
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
149 Girdle Ridge Rd
Katonah, NY   See Map
When Lucy Kalantari won the first of her two Grammy awards, she shared the award with a distinguished cellist in her band: her five-year-old son Darius. This summer, she shares her jazz age-inspired music with Caramoor’s youngest audience. Children and caregivers of all ages are invited to sing along (in English and Spanish!) to classic children’s songs, swinging originals, and music that highlights the joys of life, community, and resilience.

Movement and musical discovery take flight in this series for the littlest Caramoor attendees. Located in our flexible and accessible Education Center, this program geared for children ages 2–6 (and their caregivers) brings in world-class artists who will invite children to sing, wiggle, and dance to diverse styles of music.

This performance welcomes children who are neurodivergent, have sensory sensitivities, or just need a bit more space to enjoy the music. Modifications include relaxed house rules, and extra space for movement.

Esther Street Jazz presents

201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Vollmer created the Harlem Blues & Jazz Band in 1973 as a labor of love, never suspecting that it would become one of the longest continually performing jazz groups in existence. The band has always had a strong link to Louis Armstrong from its inception. George James, the first saxophonist in the band, was with Armstrong in the 30s and participated in Armstrong's first triumphant return to his Native New Orleans. An impressive number of musicians from the Classic and Swing eras have graced the various groups throughout the years, thereby giving an enviable authenticity and historical significance to the band's performances and recordings.

Weather permitting, the performance will be outside on Esther St, otherwise it will be held inside the BeanRunner Cafe.
