Le Winston Band is a Montreal group that blends its French-Canadian roots with Zydeco and Cajun music. Since 2012, the Winston troupe has been spreading its joie de vivre through a sound that fuses the rich Louisiana musical tradition with its own Montreal identity. Le Winston Band music is leaning into rural Acadian traditions yet steeped in a full bore Zydeco sound and feel.
Inspired by different music from French-speaking America, the group unashamedly merges cultures and eras to create a doubly “original” sound. Their repertoire oscillates between their own compositions and traditional pieces from Louisiana, Quebec and elsewhere. The Winston Band has taken its music to the four corners of Canada, to France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States and has more than 600 shows to its credit. Just back from a major 11 stop tour of Europe in May. |

It resides in hidden spaces between joy and tragedy, love and loss.Mike has released 4 studio albums, “We Wonder” (2018),“The Darkness and The Light” (2021), "Career Advice" a single (2021),“Particles to Pearls” (June 2022) an EP "Troubled Times" (Oct. 2022) and "Love Never Rests" (April 2023). Mike’s song “Currency of Forgiveness” is a finalist for the Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest. He was an honorable mention in the 2023 Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition and 2022 Great River Songwriting Competition. La Voz celebrates 20 years in print! Join us in celebrating the 20th anniversary of La Voz magazine on Saturday, June 22 at the Bard Fisher Center’s whimsical Spiegeltent. Come enjoy this fundraising birthday party with live music with Alex Torres and his Latin Orchestra, the Spiegeltent’s electric dance floor, honorees who serve the Hispanic communities of the Hudson Valley, a Latin-flavored starter, main course and dessert meal served by Tilda's Kitchen (included in the price of all tickets), a dance class, a silent auction and more.

 The intuitive, spontaneous nature of the music presented by Bassist & Composer John Menegon, in collaboration with these exceptional musicians, pushes the boundaries of today’s music on the world stage. The music is deeply rooted in the traditions that come
out of the Free Bop era of Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman, and Paul Motian, to name a few. The music is created in the “moment of now!” Some of the melodies presented on Saturday will be freely interpreted, sometimes letting the form create itself, using melodic and harmonic expression relying in the trust of each player’s deep knowledge of improvisation. The group will be exploring some odd meters and different grooves, and will include Menegon’s original compositions. The unique sounds in improvisation
are unleashed by these four exceptional musicians.

Celebrating the Juneteenth National Holiday, Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet performs a free concert, sponsored by Goshen Library and Historical Society. Enjoy an afternoon of classic tunes by African American composers from the American Songbook spanning the swing thru bebop eras of modern jazz. 
In honor of the Juneteenth National Holiday the Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet rounds up a week of concerts with a free performance in Port Jervis at UpFront Exhibition Space. Audiences can expect a lively evening of music from the Great American Songbook written by African American composers, spanning the Swing thru Bebop eras of modern jazz. The concert is a free event funded by the Music Performance Trust Fund (via American Federation of Musicians Poughkeepsie Local 238-291.) The quartet features Myles Lino, tenor sax, Darius Beckford, piano, Alfonso Ramos, upright bass and Kim Peralta, drums. The players are alumni of SUNY Jazz Ensemble and the SUNY New Paltz Jazz Studies Program. Call for more info: 845.754.1808
