 Robert Hill was born at a very early age, a small, naked male child in North Little Rock, Arkansas. As the story goes, whenever someone from the city of Little Rock, (on the other side of the Arkansas River), had something they wanted to get rid of, say, a car, a dog, or maybe an ex-wife or husband, they would drive it over the bridge to the NLR side and dump it. As a result of folks depositing, particularly dogs, the town gained the distinguished nickname of “Dogtown”. It made the people proud.

 The Magnatone Brothers is a two guitar ensemble led by Joel Harrison and Mark Dziuba. The two like -minded guitarists bonded over the fact that they both own rare and eccentric 1950s guitars made by the Magnatone company. They resolved to do a show where both guitars would speak to each other. Both Joel and Mark are improvisors with an open minded aesthetic which includes all kinds of American Music. Both are composers so expect a mix of originals, jazz tunes, groove- based material, and in general a lot of fine interplay and good fun. The two are joined by illustrious colleagues— Jay Anderson on bass and Jeff Siegel on drums.

Le Winston Band is a Montreal group that blends its French-Canadian roots with Zydeco and Cajun music. Since 2012, the Winston troupe has been spreading its joie de vivre through a sound that fuses the rich Louisiana musical tradition with its own Montreal identity. Le Winston Band music is leaning into rural Acadian traditions yet steeped in a full bore Zydeco sound and feel.
Inspired by different music from French-speaking America, the group unashamedly merges cultures and eras to create a doubly “original” sound. Their repertoire oscillates between their own compositions and traditional pieces from Louisiana, Quebec and elsewhere. The Winston Band has taken its music to the four corners of Canada, to France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States and has more than 600 shows to its credit. Celebrating the Juneteenth National Holiday, Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet performs a free concert, sponsored by Goshen Library and Historical Society. Enjoy an afternoon of classic tunes by African American composers from the American Songbook spanning the swing thru bebop eras of modern jazz. 
In honor of the Juneteenth National Holiday the Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet rounds up a week of concerts with a free performance in Port Jervis at UpFront Exhibition Space. Audiences can expect a lively evening of music from the Great American Songbook written by African American composers, spanning the Swing thru Bebop eras of modern jazz. The concert is a free event funded by the Music Performance Trust Fund (via American Federation of Musicians Poughkeepsie Local 238-291.) The quartet features Myles Lino, tenor sax, Darius Beckford, piano, Alfonso Ramos, upright bass and Kim Peralta, drums.
