For the past 25 years Paul Kogut has steadily built an international reputation as a jazz guitarist and composer. His music was featured at the Jazz and Colors Fare Thee Well Celebration, at Chicago’s Field Museum. Speaking of Paul, John Abercrombie says, “His musical approach to guitar playing and his compositional skills are first rate,” and Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers calls Paul “a great guitar player.” James Keepnews describes his debut Blujazz release, “Know It? I Wrote It!” as “a memorable first date, one that will appeal to the taciturn jazzbo and the festival twirler alike.” Paul Kogut's concert will be followed by a performance by Little Sparrow, featuring Jeff Anderson on bass (Esther Phillips/Ben E. King), and Henry Simon on guitar (Sullivan West senior).

Peekskill native, NYFA (New York Foundation For The Arts) grant recipient Fred Gillen Jr has released nine full-length albums, to great critical acclaim, and has toured all over the U.S. and Europe. His songs have been featured on ABC's "All My Children," NPR's "Car Talk," CMJ's New Music Marathon Sampler, and in 2012 his version of Woody Guthrie's "I Ain't Got No Home" was featured on "Pete Remembers Woody," a collection of Pete Seeger's spoken stories about Woody Guthrie. Like Guthrie, his songs often reflect the struggles of the marginalized and forgotten, shining a light on both the despair and hope in the human condition. His live performances are spontaneous celebrations of all that it is to be human, he encourages participation, and he works hard to eliminate the "fourth wall" between performer and audience.

Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Sarah Segal-Lazar Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Sarah Segal-Lazar has been making music since before she could talk. Folks say she took her first steps in ¾ time. By the time she was nine, she was sending songs into the local radio station.
At 19, she moved to the City That Never Sleeps. She started playing in dive bars in the Lower East Side and jazz bars in Greenwich Village. She would have stayed forever if Uncle Sam hadn’t come knocking when her visa expired. Not wanting to be an actual outlaw, she headed north. Since crossing back over the 49th parallel, Sarah's released her own music, as well as compose for others. Dancing at the crossroads where folk and country meet, reviewers have called her music “simply mesmerizing” and “so gorgeous, they made the air go still.“ These days, the Femme Fatale of Folk splits her time between the busy streets of Montreal and the red shores of PEI—and shares her tunes wherever the wind may take her. Her latest album VALLEYS, produced by Canadian folk luminary Matthew Barber, is out now.
